  1. Clear skies here in East Kent, not a cloud, which bodes well for any necessary warming precluding storms.
  2. Perhaps one of the best paragraphs I have read all year! Please bring us storms and rain...
  3. Working all week making chips for a chippy - it's our towns Regatta Carnival week. Crowds have already been immense this weekend, Deal beach has seemed positively tropical at times. Wish me luck folks, the yard is a sun trap
  4. For us in the far SE/Kent, I think it's worth now looking at the PPN in Belgium and Northern France. Was coming up from the south but last few frames of Radar show it pivoting to go West. This could bring more rain into the night with the possibility of T&L.
  5. Well you know the old saying... time flies like knives. fruit flies prefer bananas. good to see you posting though, can't believe it was only March we were getting hyped on snow and the promise of a frozen summer. Safe travels and enjoy any storms if they come your way.
  6. We had some on and off rain throughout the day.. Not a great total amount though, but any is welcome. All I can smell here is muckspreading!! Hums of poo!
  7. Typical hit and miss Storms/Showers, Great if you see one, despair if the rain passes you by. I got the feeling last night watching the French weatherfront moving north that it just wasn't going to make it far enough to affect East Kent. Seeing it now this morning I think we'll be lucky to see even a slight drizzle off it, and I believe the cloud cover will reduce our chances here of seeing homegrown showers. Not a complaint, we've had the best winter in years, followed by the best (hottest, most consistent) summer in decades (and in my lifetime) but I would love some rain and the thought of a thunderstorm is a real treat RN.
  8. We get a few purely urban foxes, I have a Lurcher so we don't see them often, only whilst she's still asleep. Seen cubs the last two years but only briefly! Thankfully have seen three hedgehogs this year and they are supposedly I'm decline.. Perhaps they've turned it around.
  9. Really hoping tomorrow's forecast storms happen to soak my patch! Everything looks Saharan.. I love it but most of the plants and animals are suffering. The young foxes that come to our pond in the early mornings have likely never seen rain! PS hope non weather related pic is allowed. I'll try to get some tomorrow of the lightning if we see any.
  10. Finally reached us after spinning it's way across the Dover strait last night. Plenty of heavy rain and rumbles, a few strikes now showing up over East Kent.
  11. Estofex have a level 2 out for a lot of southern UK today through until tomorrow morning. I still think we are in with the potential for further 'thundery showers' but I'd be surprised if we see a more active system pass through than that of last night! Working in the catering industry, I can assure you bank holiday weekends are the busiest and I only managed to get five minutes storm watching last night before I packed it in and went to bed. Boo! Would welcome another storm in the early afternoon today, even just to give me working relief! Too humid! Hope everyone enjoyed some popcorn lightning anyway.
  12. I'm hoping for a Kent clipper later on, but nothing seems to be electrifying today. Storms seem to be early in the season, but then I remember it is already April and we just had a very late winter!
  13. Night all. Thanks for making another cold spell so entertaining and informative. I'll be back lurking at any hint of a snowflake or rumble of thunder. ? Loz
  14. Oh yes, the hills and downs from ripple westwards seem to catch the snow, Deal town not so much. Good memories when the schools have to close ?
  15. The only time I remember seeing deep accumulation of snow in Deal. The roads were filled, the hedges and fences were drifts. Being coastal and low-lying we rarely do well from any other kind of set up.
  16. All in all it was a fairly pathetic effort at snowing. Didn't really start, ended quick sharp. Hopefully there's more on it's way shortly, guess it's a mix of radar and window watching for now.
  17. The IR on sat24 to my mind looks fairly potent for the SE, a whole trail of cloud on that easterly.
  18. Fascinating to watch the sattelite capture sequence on buienradar. You can see the easterly with the shower flow, the convergence in the south east with a.. LP? Pushing up through France.
  19. You can almost smell Spring here in sunny Deal.. No, I kid, it's going to snow for all of us this eve! ?
  20. Indeed, Light snow pepping up now in East Kent, coming in a ENE wind off the sea.
  21. Snowing well in East Kent. 4 on the Murr scale with a few gusty blizzards. Magical snowfall I am in awe.
