    I think were in for some snow tonight The direction of the ppn is favourable for my location at least and with there being reports of snow in birmingham and the wind coming off the land instead of the sea, It should be conductive for snow. I'll be happy if I get a dusting as we've had very little around here, none laying anyway, while others have had loads!

    Were just too damn sheltered mate, the only favourable possition for us here is a strong, very cold, north westerly and even then the warmth of the Irish sea ruins it for us! We carnt win

    Hope so! my temp is currently -0.7c and falling, I might even break this years all time low of -3.6c for around here, on the 19 Dec 09! Wind has been from the SE for a while now so this will have a lot do do with the sudden drop in temps, especially around here on the coast where the sea has a huge influence.

    Yep got my eye on that, I think it will slowly pull eastwards and might just clip here if I'm lucky! The track of the showers are over the Irish sea at the moment, picking up moisture, as soon as that track pulls inland they will probably peter out, just my luck really

    Yep up to 2.9c here already although the snow doesnt seem to be thawing much. Its going to be 5c here by lunch time if this carries on

    Nice dusting here at the moment, Snow is mainly of the soft hail/snow mix around here but plenty of showers forming just west of me out in the Irish sea. Temperature is rising slowly though, with the sea temperature influence sarting to take effect with the direction of the wind Just hope these showers are frequent and help keep the temp down!

    Temperature here just doesn't want to drop, but Dewpoint has fallen nicely from 3.7c to 1.6c in the last hour......

    Belting it down with rain here, and some quite strong winds too, Temp has been steady at 5.1c for the last hour or so....great Edit rain seems to be easing now and temp has just droped by 0.2c in 30 seconds

    Hope so Stephen or I'll have to go and buy one of those snow making machines to keep the kids off my back :lol:

    Would love to see another polar low, I think the last one to hit around here was the winter of 2001-2002 I think or maybe i'm wrong, it was a good 7 or 8 years ago put it that way!!

    Temp rose rapidly here about an hour ago up to 5.5c now falling slowly again at 5.1c. Dewpoint 3.2c Not expecting much snow around here tonight but crossing my fingers for tomorrow as i've promissed the kids some snow

    Snowing nicely on the Birmingham webcam now, it was raining about half an hour ago http://www.itvlocal.com/meridian/live/ Temperature is droping slowly here now at 3.0 with a dew of 1.2 not sure I'll get anything from this now. Good luck to everyone else though

    Stoped here now, looks like thats all i'll be getting, nice big hole appeared in the precipitation to my west on the radar :w00t: Further precipitation just west of Angelsy but by the time that gets here it'll probably be rain. Anyway nice to see the snow while it lasted. Good luck to everyone else.

    Coming down really heavy now, Temps have fallen down to 1.4c from 3.5c when it started, just need it to fall a bit more as its trying to stick! Temp droping quite fast now, its 1.2c :o

    You have a temp of 0.0c and your dewpoint is at +1c? Didn't think that was possible, i'm pretty sure its lower than that B)

    Yep gone a bit lighter now though, its on and off, cant help thinking were going to miss the heavier stuff from this. Hope not B)

    Bigger snow flakes now and as far as I can see there is no rain with it, should be good for you guys further east and higher up. :wub:

    Few snow flakes falling here too, although there is a bit of rain mixed in so sleet at the moment. Should turn more and more to snow if it gets heavier, temps are falling aswell.

    Well temps are falling ahead of the front here which is good news, radar showing precip over me but nothing is falling yet
