  1. Precip is right on my doorstep, the temperature is too high although it is falling slightly at 4.7c Dewpoint is just about low enough though at -1.2c. We'll see
  2. Snowing nicely in Dublin which is always a good sign http://www.allcladdagh.com/webcam.htm Just hope the Irish sea doesnt warm things up too much. Temp is up to 0.2c here now with a dewpoint of -2.8c.
  3. Ok thanks for that James, off to bed now, hopping to wake up to a slight dusting, if I get more then its a bonus Good look everyone.
  4. Yeah it looks like it is picking up fake echos to me. Is that what you mean by "anoprop" ?
  5. No I'm just using the one off the Metoffice site at the moment. As far as I can gather from posts on here about the GFS, it would appear that it was pretty accurate modeling this cold spell so far and looking at the 18z it seems to be more in our favour with the percip slightly further north and west for tonight and tomorrow. :o
  6. There seems to be some moderate showers breaking out just south of Manchester on the latest meto radar. Anyone confirm what they are falling as? I'm quite hopefull for tonights snow prospects in this region as I prefer to nowcast by watching the radar, which looks in good shape tonight, instead of relying on the BBC forcasts which tend to get it wrong anyway. Like the Monday/Tuesday event
  7. Some seriously big flakes falling about 8pm last night......
  8. Did you not get much on 12th March 2006? that was a huge event here.
  9. We'll yesturday here, at times, was the most heaviest snowfall i've seen in a long time, it just warmed up a little to much and the snow didn't stick around. If it had stayed colder we would have had a large amount of snow on the ground. But I do agree yes the NW is definately snow starved, especially here anyway.
  10. Er wasent it you who said yesturday that all this talk of heavy snow coming to the NW is utter nonsense?
  11. Light snow here at the moment, its whats left over from that large area of showers that were down in the south of wales this morning.
  12. Hopefully those showers over south wales, which are intensifying will hit here this afternoon, they seem to be tracking north as they curl around the bottom of the low. http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/radar/index.html
  13. Yeah it was on and off for most of the day here too. I supose I should be greatfull I got to see some at last You beet me to it Stephen, same here nice big flakes and temperature droped slightly also.
  14. It hasent stoped snowing here now for over 6 hours with nice big flakes again now, but still what little we have left is thawing and whats falling isnt sticking. If only the temperature had stayed at just below freezing, I rekon we could of had a good 10cm plus here. Never mind though, I think I just need to move to a house on a nice big hill
  15. Its hard to say, my temperature was rising quite fast before but for the last hour it has held at 0.3c. Becuase its held steady i'm hoping thats all the effect the mild sector has on us around here. Lately the snow has turned back to more of the dry type so hopefully i'm right and it might stay as snow. 5 inches? you've done well there mate
  16. Yeah its strange, really heavy again here now, temperature has not risen anymore for the last hour, steady now at 0.3c, just hope thats all it will rise to or there will be no snow left by the morning. Still Bromborough should have some left tomorrow which is were I work so not all is lost
  17. Same here temperature has risen enough now to stop the snow from accumulating, and its starting to slide off the cars. I knew this damn mild sector would spoil things, although I suppose it was to be expected here on the coast.
  18. Coming down heavy again now, although with a slight temperature rise, has anyone else had their temperature rise in the last half an hour?
  19. Snow has turned lighter here now and temp has risen slightly from -0.6c to -0.3c. Dewpoint is -1.6c. The effect of the mild sector, according to the GFS, will be between now and 3am in the morning. I hope it doesn't spoil things for people on low ground
  20. I've never seen flakes as big as this before, some of these are the size of golf balls, coming down thick and fast <_<
  21. Heaviest snow i've seen for a while here, good covering aswell
  22. I think it will Stephen although the low is tracking north the percip seems to be curling around the top of it in a more westerly direction. I could of course just be talking rubbish  just saying what I think is happening on the radar.
  23. As long as its heavy enough it will stick and the temps will drop when it starts anyway, also it is coming at the right time with the sun going down the temperature is likely to fall anyway
  24. Heavy snow here now, (I'm in Bromborough at work) Well i'm supposed to be working anyway
  25. I'm pretty sure that batch of heavier snow will reach us, it is heading this way, lets just hope it doesnt get pulled up the eastern side as the low moves north, but at the moment its on track.
