  1. We'll im not sure about that, I'm pretty sure we'll get something out of that big clump of percip thats forming nicely over France http://www.meteox.com/h.aspx?r=&jaar=-...;soort=satradar
  2. Been on and off for most of the night here, got a dusting, about 1cm or less still cant complain, hopefully the sun in between the showers today doesn't melt it all and it will provide a nice base for the heavier stuff tonight
  3. Snow just starting to fall again here now
  4. Well I must admit I only tend to come on here when there is the slightest sniff of snow or any other extreme weather, but lately I am now finding all this model watching more appealing, the missus thinks i'm obsessed
  5. It was probably an earlier report from the last area of showers that went through, nothing showing up on the radar yet. That next band of showers to the east are not too far away though.
  6. Nothing against Netweather radar, I have purchased it in the past and it is well worth the money, but I find this one decent enough and it updates every 15mins aswell. http://www.raintoday.co.uk/
  7. I agree tomorrow's more organised band of snow will be are best chance, but the mild sector to the east of it may just spoil things turning the snow back to rain for a time before turning colder again in the early hours of tuesday morning. The further south west you are the better your chances of keeping the colder air aswell as the usual lucky ones who happen to live on high ground
  8. We should get at least a dusting overnight though mate, and with temperatures dropping below freezing, whatever falls should stick around all night hopefully.
  9. Unlucky there mate, we've had snow on and off from about 3pm here. Looking at the radar you should have had some??? Skies are clearing now though and i'm not convinced those showers to the east are going to be very heavy over this way they seem to be fragmenting. Temp droping fast here now, currently 0.1c dewpoint at -4.6c.
  10. What about 12th March 2006? we did pretty well out of that one
  11. Heavy snow shower with soft hail mixed in, looking good so far
  12. Snow filled skies to my north east, should have some snow falling pretty soon hopefully Eidit Snowing now
  13. Looks that way steve, seems to be a lot of variaton in temperature on the wirral peninsular looking at wunderground.com, mine (IWIRRALB3) is 1 degree cooler than IMERSEYS5 wo's station is only 2 roads down from me! Maybe it has something to do with the easterly wind as I have my sensor around 4m up on a pole so it is well exposed! Anyway back on topic, it looks as though from the radar we should get what snow Manchester is reporting now, thats if it doesn't die out before it reaches here, if anything though the showers seem to be pepping up a bit. Best of look anyway, if I dont get any round here i'll be driving up to pole hill as you will probably do better than me with your ellevation.
  14. Its 2.8c here steve, are you sure your thermometer isn't in the sun? Also were on the meto's Tuesday warning mate so you never know. I suppose the chance of a good dumping is low around here but I think we should atleast least see a few centimeters from Monday nights system.
  15. Thanks HGB, I agree it was a very rare event I dont think we will see anything like that again for a long time unfortunatley, still you never know . We were having a clear-out the day before, as you can see in the second picture with a nice dump of snow on the top of my old TV I've never seen snow accumulate like it did on the back of that Fiat punto in my first picture, it was nice to see some "proper" snow for a change
  16. The 12th of March 2006 was the most decent snow event we had here for a long time. I remember waking up that Sunday morning watching the snow fall heavily, expecting it to all turn to a slushy mess when the mild sector moved in as forcast. Instead it just kept on snowing for almost the whole day with gusty eastily winds, and it was the dry snow type that blew about like sand in the wind. In the end I think we had around 10cm and huge drifts which stuck around for at least 5 days or more after the event. It was one of those events you only see every 10 years or so, and it just goes to show how it can all boil down to nowcasting. I hope we get something similar to that event here again soon, as we almost always miss out here on the west coast at sea level. Heres a few pictures and a short video of that day: Mark  Snow.wmv
  17. Moderate rain here, wind speed upto 35mph so far but getting stronger, pressure falling rapidly now at 987.9 hpa. Temp is 7.5c and dewpoint at 3.9c.
  18. Currently a barmy 10.3c here in Moreton. There's been no rain so far but looking at the radar it looks like there will be some soon. Scotland looks like its taking a battering Highest wind gust recorded today so far is 23.5mph but my garden is quite sheltered so probably more than that. Certainly looks stronger! Pressure currently rising slowly at 1011.3hpa. Mark.
  19. Hi steve, just been to poll hill with my son Joshua to build a snowman, down here in Moreton its rain with the odd snowflake mixed in. Really wierd how it quickly turns to heavy snow as you come up the thurstaston slope from the roundabout near Caldy. What a differance 40m or so makes. Hopefully the snow might extend down to sea level when the heavier stuff arrives, but i'm not expecting it to. Makes me want to move back to pensby
  20. Just started snowing again heavily here, looks like the irish sea has an influence on the ppn over north wales, the wirral and the cheshire gap. I wonder how long this will last?
  21. Snowing heavily all night, still coming down thick and fast, blowing into drifts. About 7cm at the moment. Temp -1.6c
  22. Partly cloudy, slight frost, temperature -0.9c slowly rising.
  23. Heavy dry snow here, temp -1.5c. Didnt expect there to be much in the way of snow round here being so close to the coast. Lets hope it sticks around for a good few hours
