  1. It got to Shoebury ok but not much further. Had steady rain on and off for a few hours, not sure it mounted to much. The main thing was a reduction of the solar rays and sun to ease the heat yesterday only 21c here. However now we face the worst thing of summer days hot and humid.already feels foul, humidity was at 98% this morning, dropped now off course.
  2. Well no arguing now its a fact. https://blog.metoffice.gov.uk/2018/07/17/the-summer-so-far/
  3. Wow this what a summer day should be like ish. Maybe several degrees cooler for my liking. 29c in this little corner but only 44% humidity and dewpoint of only 13c. It is SO MUCH more different than the last few years.
  4. I meant the new building going up ie the one in your post above. So that will run from the bottom to the top where the off piste run is, then you ski back to Katschberg via the red or black.
  5. Where is it running through bottom of the long off piste run to where to top the black and red run, rather than getting two lifts up or am I totally confused. Is that the big biulding you can see on one of the web cams
  6. Yes you say that but they have prolonged the sea breeze again, wish it was here every day in the summer, mind you its been like it this year a lot of days. Showing 10 to 18mph easterlies here today.
  7. Looked at the rubbish 7 day MO forcast day by day. For London its 2 days at 30c then 5 days between 23 and 27c. Most summers its people getting excited about reaching those temps this year its going down to such. One things for sure its going to be and has been the best summer pretty much since 76 now. Also its been a non humid summer with much cooler nights than previous summers so far with good old sea breezes The one big question are we going to pay for it this autumn with flooding and gale force winds or is this the new norm...
  8. Considering the weather had very few if any flying ant episodes down here. According to Essex Weather we are now on day 46 ish of no rain. Cant say how true that is as just cant remember when it last rained. It really would be nice to get an extra half hour that I dont have to water my fruits and veg's, last alone the pots and baskets twice a day. Even if just once a week...
  9. I am sorry to say being an oldy myself I think it is. when younger use to love hot weather, worked out side all the time no matter how hot, now I prefer 22c and breeze, also rain more as do far more gardening although it can fall at night.
  10. I got them installed last summer and look what happened this year lol.. Best money ever spent if you suffer with the heat. Also the new ones cool, heat and blow std air so they are a 3 in 1 and efficient.
  11. Sorry delete wrong thread and cant seem to edit it.
  12. I've gone for 2c over the average and I think its going to be to low a guess. Even 25mm unless we get much of a thunderstorm would be to high. Forget the day to day models just reading the underlining text from the MO although of course by July 25th it could be 17c and pouring with rain lol..

  14. One question to any knowledgeable people. Has the infrastructure changed in the lat say 20 years, There are more houses and more people taking loads more water, if we haven't built more reservoirs, storage areas bigger pipes and larger treatment plants. Ie the water companies are not building for the future (yes they have repaired many leaking pipes), then this will get worse and worse with even small times of small rainfall totals. They are complaining of people taking more water well surely that is obvious when its hot and they should be able to treat enough water when this happens, thats why you invest for the future. This is what i think people like Ben and others are referring to, we pay loads for water yet the water companies are not reinvesting enough because of profits for the investers. I do understand that if you to build a new reservoir the green people kick up a fuss because wide areas are flooded nature is lost homes and farms are gone etc,
  15. No one gives a s*** because it only happens rarely, much like proper cold spells in winter. If every summer turned out like this one then action would be taken one hopes, funny though a few years ago all the GW doom mongers told us every summer would be like this until it rained a lot then they said it would be hotter and wetter.
  16. Hadn't a lot of that been sorted after the 2010-12 drought.
  17. If the pattern doesn't change then it would be almost a record or top 10. So I could be under with my guess even though its high, this month is 2c over. My guess is 18.8c 25mm made up from a thunderstorm.
  18. Yes but the water companies scream drought very early these days. The main reason I recon is that its the same amount of water feeding hundreds of thousands more homes and businesses than say the 70/80s and as such there it is used up far quicker.
  19. Of which I am very happy with that. In fact most days it will top out around 22c at best round here, with crystal clear skies thats perfect and a coolish breeze, cant do hot and humid. This is back to good old summers from years ago and not those hot humid SW winds and hot nights of last few summers.
  20. I think it will really go up well above 30c this week. How people can say it wont is beyond me, I think after this week people will be after a cooler spell(not cloudy rubbish), in fact some overnight rain will be a must The ground is so dry and the ground temp with urban areas the ambient temp is rising every day. SO glad I live right next to the coast.
  21. Well its the end of June and the snow has returned to the Alps all be it breifly. Top of the Edlewisse its all white with a good dumping of snow. https://edelweissspitze.panomax.com/ Also note that at the top of a mountain viewing area they can afford to re tarmac the parking area, that only gets uncovered for 8 months of the year yet where I live there are roads that are terrible with pot holes and the structure falling apart that get driven on all the time.
