  1. Utterly forgot about this due to life taking over. 17.4c 54mm
  2. You can keep the hot weather, its a lovely 20c here with a light easterly sea breeze, so happy the easterly kept going for us, it was meant to be westerly today. Actually we could be hotter here tomorrow then today.
  3. I may be wrong, if so I apologise, but they look like just high clouds, having seen a massive display when driving through Belgium years ago one night and several in this country. The one I saw while driving abroad was so bright it was virtually dusk all night ie it wasnt dark at 1am You wont miss them when you see them as they are almost irridesent, they just look like sun touched clouds and to low.
  4. Well the rain down here moved eastwards on monday eve from its suggested track so the hot weather plume does the same. I never brought the stupid high temps here, but I am glad I dont live in Europe now, yet again 100 ish miles difference, remind you of winter lol.. I must admit I didnt expect every day to be as low as it has been away from the east coasts. I do feel happy with my guess along with plenty of others.
  5. Have to say its an excellent entry, so nice to see many people who dont normally post much entering. Also have to say most entries are on the high side, but who knows it may not even break 30c lol or it may go to the top.
  6. Is it really going to be well over 35c this week, i am not so sure. 32.8c SAT Have to go with Heathrow.
  7. To be fair nature does need the rain. This is the only rain that will get down into the soil at this time of the year. Remember not every year can be like last year thank god. This weather gives me an extra 20 mins plus not watering the garden. Again we haven't had the continuous rain here, although it was pretty foul yesterday and windy. Nice start here plenty of sunshine.
  8. As I mentioned before, I think on the most notable reasons for the CET always seeming to be above isnt due to rising daytime temps. Its to do with forever warmer nights, so when we get a spell of lower mins thats the main reason we get average or below average monthly temps.
  9. https://edelweissspitze.panomax.com/ Morning John, its just in recent years, I know you often get falls of snow for a couple of days, but this has been steady all the last few weeks. It does make a lovely view with the strong sun and plenty of snow up there.
  10. Well that is very strange. The Edlewissespitze web cab I have just been looking at as I often do. Very surreal, the large amount of snow in the last month has left piles of snow everywhere, well late in the season. There is a bike race finishing up the top, so there all in summer racing kit, looks like mid summer well it is June and surrounded by snow and sunny skies. Just looks wrong, but beautiful.
  11. It doesnt look like a scene where by June is 2 days away lol..
  12. From recent viewing I think the Alps have had well over average snowfall this May, Someone good with links can confirm this, but feel spring arrived very late in the Alps this year. Esp on the higher slopes even the Edlewissespitze cam I normally view its only really just been cleared this year for the summer.
  13. That just seems wrong, would like to know the min data for down here, it must be well below ave here and maybe above further north. However we havent had many temps over 14c until the last few days due to the easterlies, so 15c ave max feels wrong to. Maybe it just goes to show how much the min temps are bringing the ave CET up over the last period of time. I will have to look at the min ave a bit more.
  14. Talking of which has any learned person have figures to hand. I think it would be a very big difference esp compared to recent times, as it always seems the night time temps which bring up the CET these days.
  15. One interesting point about this month I think you will find which makes a big different to this months CET. If you do a ave max temp and min temp you will find that the min temp would be much much lower than normal. I reckon the maxs would be close or above average.
  16. Left it open yesterday and still forgot to do it. Late must be my name, missed the Easter comp by a few hours and was 0.01c out. Reading reports from late middle of month pointed out by some members of the CFS forecasts of a scorching hot May. Dont see that coming off. So will go for slightly above average as it never seems to be below these days. 12.5c 52mm
  17. Thats not a bad idea not for this comp but for general use. One question to all, why do we have a 30 year average why not 50 years or so. Is it just because the MO fixed that reference for their use.
  18. Does it though, wasnt it the 10th warmest March, with hardly any what I call decent weather, in fact it was a nothing month with no rain last 2 weeks or more. It just seems these days it doesnt take much and average temps seem to zoom up. It does seem to me to be the min temps that keep bringing up higher monthly averages. Take yesterday max was 13c here (17c top) and night time was 7c and its supposed to be cold, we are on the coast.
  19. Morning, well yesterday had hardly any rain, almost missed us totally. However today is a lovely start to the school holidays, NOT. Down here we have had almost no rain for 2 to 3 weeks, everything was dry, having to water the new seedlings, not the case now though.
  20. I got a slight tan from the warm spell in Feb, so now will sure give a you a really good glow on. However with todays cold easterly its not a shirt off day unlike yesterday, in the garden working that is, not parading down the sea front.
