  1. Eastern part near the polish borders (small town 20 km south of Ostrava). Majority of the Czech Republic, including Brno, recieved some rain two weeks ago but this region is cursed. Cold fronts from the west are not what they used to be. They rarely have any strength when they arrive and bring only colder air without rain. This started three years ago I guess. Something changed and we've been stuck in the warm southern air since then.
  2. One for the books. The warmest and driest summer ever recorded here. 36 days with temperature higher than 30°C (average is 13) and 15 days with temperature higher than 35°C. Disgusting. One more summer like this and I'm moving north. Below average summers are probably a thing of the past here. The last one is from 1996.
  3. Some places got hit by local storms recently so it's not the same everywhere but as you can see here -> http://hydro.chmi.cz/hpps/index.php?lng=ENG it's pretty bad already. The next ten days will make it much worse. Never seen anything like that. The persistency of warm weather is ridiculous. stainesbloke: Well, it is nice for a few days but it gets tiring pretty fast. One or two days with 35C+ is fine but for more then a week? That's just too much. You can't sleep and working in these conditions is not exactly pleasant. It will be interesting to see what's in store for the second half of August. This summer could very well end up being the warmest and driest ever. It's funny that even southern California got more rain in July than we did
  4. Disgusting summer here with heatwave after heatwave and no rain. We are in a huge drought. Trees are turning brown, grass is long gone and rivers are almost empty. The forecast for the next 10 days makes me sick. I mean, do I still live in the temperate zone or should I start planting palm trees?
  5. This winter is a disaster for cold lovers so far (not so much for me but it would still be nice to get some stable cold period). December was 2.6°C above average here and January is even worse so far. It's safe to say that majority of forecasts on the forum were dead wrong.
  6. Greetings from central Europe. This winter is, so far, even worse than 13/14 which is really remarkable considering there was no winter last year. I'm not optimistic about the future. 11C at 6AM, spring is here I guess.
