  1. This is like waiting for Santa and hope he brings something!
  2. Is this slow progress from France going to cause any issues at this late stage? Cannot work out which way it's heading it's so slow!
  3. Agree - some very knowledgeable posters on there - quite a few who are not! If we could all get in on it then fab.
  4. The SE lot will be picking up the dregs that will be on the easterly periphery of our storm - yes, 'our' storm - For Wales and our long suffering 'south west' friends it is currently 'going to our plan' !
  5. That's what i believe Keith - nothing major going to happen until around 6pm. As was said yesterday, when we get fronts coming up from the south they really can go wrong with a change of wind direction - and there is still plenty of time for this to happen. Especially as it's not going too far north - it won;t take a lot to deflect major stuff away. Hopefully it will go as planned and mega snow fall ensues - got to go and gear my self up for a 25 minute walk to the train station - early start as I am not staying past 1pm today - just in case
  6. It's what used to happen in the 70s and 80s. Big snow forecast a few days out - stayed in place until just before - then slowly but surely less snow or a milder air victory. This looks like some of the optimism 'might' get sucked away - which would be just our luck. Patiently waited for several days - and then it will be snatched off us. Ah well, let's hope it's just a rogue downgrade.....
  7. At last, a bit of snow - excitement it causes! I got up to take a tablet - seen the little bit of snow and stayed up - even at my age I love it! I'm going to build a micro snowman later JK
  8. Always going to be the same. Wales needs a stronger flow to get anything coming inland with effect. JK
  9. Some big flakes here now - nice line of showers coming right over my location !
  10. The front has gone now guys and it looks like we are going to rely on meagre showers which are very fragmented on the current radar.
  11. Got a few worried people on training in my office from Neath/Resolven - any updates on the weather from anyone down that area?
  12. 7°C here in Cardiff - been some heavy rain towards Caerphilly area - ground soaking. These temps will have to drop quite quickly later - but not holding out too much hope - a full day in work in Cardiff it is unless my daughter texts me lunch time to say it is snowing in the valleys - get home dad !
  13. I think the tumbleweed in our thread says it all! As per usual can't see a lot to behold tomorrow unless you are at the higher elevations. Always knew the northerly direction would not help us out. Ah well, let's get some sleep before I get up for work tomorrow and spend the day seeing either depressed people or myself being depressed by other regions doing so well and getting our snow
  14. Yes the graphic on the left is - but I have circled the Wales link - there is nothing by the side of it if you look - but the graphics for the other days show it should have the snowflake icon indicating a warning !
  15. We are still in warnings if you look at the graphics - but we are not where I have highlighted - are we going to be removed from them...... hope not!
  16. With caution attached - looking good....
  17. Yes Jay - but if we do get some surprises then that would be great. I know the forecasters are struggling so let's hope that all the variables fall into place on the day and surprise us all! JK
  18. Yes Andy, but we are also going to need the dew points to be with us as well - as we know for snow - a lot of variables! I think it looks as though the wishbone effect is going to treat the usual suspects - and inland Wales and especially further south - might just be a tad on the too warm side for the desired snow (for most )
  19. Some settling snow in Pontlottyn - top of Rhymney Valley - now starting in Bargoed - bit of a surprise I must say
  20. They are sending out updates now - I have just seen a couple - but snow warnings for weekend are more North Wales Saturday - then West Wales/Southern extent
  21. That must have changed since this morning then. I'm certainly not intrigued - more disappointed that this cold period could become milder! Upgrades hopefully to come although MOD thread is none too exciting at the moment.
