  1. Absolutely beautiful anvil cloud lightning over Co Tyrone this evening. We'd the perfect view and all the children in the estate were oohing and ahhing at the display. Was able to get the drone up and capture it. Love the reflection in the Lough. dji_fly_20230908_204127_0_1694202087245_video_low_quality.mp4
  2. Nice and heavy here now...always interesting to note the difference in snow type in easterly v North Westerly airflows. Much finer, drier snow from the continental wind direction compared to thick, wet NW snow off the Atlantic. 20230309_175600.mp4
  3. Starting to stick pretty well here now, none settling in Omagh as of yet.
  4. 18z looks very promising for us in Ireland. In Ulster, it has the precipitation moving in around midday and still hanging on in East Coast at 6am on Friday morning!!
  5. Was away in Dublin yesterday seeing Christy Moore, came back to a winter wonderland with at least 4 inches on the ground. Schools closed and snowmen to build here
  6. Away from the depression on the mod thread it's interesting to note that the PM flow could give us in the North a Christmas day surprise later in the evening. Accord8ng to the snow rows a 90% chance of snow Christmas evening/night. Happy Christmas to all on here, hopefully your weekend is full of more fun than the scrooge fest in the mod thread
  7. Interesting update from met office today...the all important boundary line will be fascinating viewing this week. Will it push far enough south for us in Ireland? Obv us nordies best place to see some of the white stuff. Confidence is unusually low for the Christmas weekend; a north/south divide with cold air, wintry showers and increased risk of more significant snow in the north, and milder conditions with rain and showers in the south, is likely, but where the boundary will be is very uncertain. Eventually, as we head towards the New Year, the colder conditions are more likely to come to dominate, with wintry showers in the north and potential for a more settled spell to develop. This would bring below average temperatures, potential for areas of freezing fog with widespread overnight frosts, and very low temperatures given any snow cover. Towards the end of the period, there are signs of a trend towards more changeable weather, with an upturn in temperatures.
  8. That wee feature they're discussing on Thursday early morning appears to heading for us in the North too. This is the latest from the ICON, will be interesting keeping an eye on this in next few days.
  9. Been holding off but looks like we're pretty much all systems go!!! Hope everyone has been keeping well
  10. That streamer has went right over me, snowing heavily for past 45 mins and radar looks packed. Lots of snow on the ground now
  11. Good covering here and snowing hard, intense precipitation looks to be moving down from the NW too 20220218_075324_1.mp4
