  1. As I posted this afternoon, interesting night ahead, I expect anywhere as far across as bham from the west to receive at least something, if not a couple of cms.
  2. Looking interesting as ever. I really wouldn't be surprised to see this one produce a reasonable covering for a fair area of the region. As has been said, the further west you are the greater that probability, but I wouldn't rule out Birmingham and surrounds from a few cms.
  3. Steady falling snow, temp at 0.6C, dew point at 0.2C.
  4. Snow continues here, heavy at times, quite large flakes.
  5. Alternating between light and moderate snow with large flakes at the moment here in Dudley. Temp down to 0.9C
  6. Short sharp light snow shower in Dudley. No accumulation, temp down to 2.2C. Stopped now and a return to blue sky with clouds.
  7. After Friday's low the weekend was average for this time of year. Some nice pleasant sunny spells and some overcast and wet spells. Today has been overcast with the temperature up to 6C from an overnight low of 3.3C. Likely to stay overcast all day here, temperatures not rising significantly higher that at present.
  8. Down to -4.5C overnight here, cars well frozen over this morning. Up to -0.7C now and a mainly sunny day so far, looking like rain this afternoon however.
  9. It's moving north so may not move east enough to get near enough to the Black Country and Birmingham.
  10. Nothing in Dudley. Temp of 1.8C but nothing but wet ground after earlier light snow. All melted. Looks like nothing but wet snow at the very best for the rest of the night.
  11. On and off light snow in Dudley. Light dusting but nothing remarkable.
  12. Have a feeling that just past Sutton Coldfield and north, north east of this will receive the biggest accumulations.
  13. No wonder it couldn't be forecast. It's a few hours away and we still have no idea what's going on. Typical snow for GB!
  14. Just what I was thinking. Unless it stalls, I can see it giving a covering, but moving on out of the area.
  15. Right on cue. If the radar be believed, that should be the start of the sleet and the start of the front.
  16. Looking at the radar, the snow may just start to arrive in Worcester from 5pm and then be over the Black Country and Birmingham a short while after this. Obviously based on current speeds of the front. It would then have to stall to give significant falls.
  17. There comes a point where it goes past forecasting, and becomes observing. I think we are nearing that point now, and there seems to be a lack of cohesion from any sources, so we're better of waiting and seeing. Looking at the radar the front looks pretty slow moving. Overnight low of -4.9C recorded in Dudley here.
  18. Personally I don't think the issue is whether we still see snow, I think pretty much all of us will see the white stuff at some point. The question is whether it will accumulate, especially if it arrives in band of sleet/rain that turns to snow (if that's true in your location). Also the reverse, snow turning to rain as the front moves. I think most forecasters will be struggling with this which is probably why I don't believe there is a weather warning out. It will be interesting to see if one is issued later on today.
  19. Quite impressive big blowing snowflakes, no accumulation though.
  20. Now rain mixed with the odd snowflake. Temp falling.
  21. Blue sky has returned to Dudley, some cloud about and the sun has gone in. Sharp temperature drop, now at 1.8C, at 1316Z it was 5.6C! Edit: Sun now out! Nice day mode restored!
  22. It's clouded over now, and looks murky, just had around a 1-2 minute shower of very fine graupel.
  23. Starting to cloud over now..I'm guessing this is coming from your direction then :-P
  24. I'm right in the town centre and I can see blue sky.
