OMG
I just heard some thunder
Not jealous... OK, that was a lie! Yet again I have missed out on any rainn, yet alone thunder. Oh well, theres always tomorrow...
-
Beautiful day here, but a massive shame that there was no heavy, thundery, showers. But, it was very warm today...
-
Cloudy and damp first thing, more prolonged rain around lunchtime and sunny spells now! A mix and match day, that's for sure.
Interesting tomorrow, with sunshine and showers. BBC has their lightning symbol showing, so hopefully some good convectional activity!

Wow - just had a look on the radar!! Good luck down south-west! Nice storm coming out of France, but I expect it will die out over the channel.
-
Apparently there was some small hail and some distant rumbles of thunder on that shower over ash vale ( I'm in new Milton at the moment). I will add that to my signature when I next get time.
-
I'm in new Milton today visiting some relatives. Just a tad to west for any showery activity at the moment. There seems to be quite a potent shower heading towards ash vale at the moment.
-
Been blustery showers here with sunny skies (and some amazing cloudscapes) inbetween. The next shower is rattling it's way through here, this one a little heavier than the others. Such a shame no hail or thundery activity today (at least, not here).

The drizzle has gone, but I think it's too cloudy for any thundery activity today. Shame...

Large and threatening cumulus around today, with some sunny spells in between. No large showers here.

I would've been on the forum last night discussing the situation if I had remembered my password...
As Surrey said, we were just a bit to far west for anything. And today we seem to be to far east for anything apart from a few light showers. Sun trying to come out, but not succeeding... -
Looks like an area of showers will track west of our region, so some lucky westeners may get T&L. Looks like evening/tonight/tomorrow could produce some hail and T&L. Will be keeping a watch out.

Im in new milton at the moment. Pleasent here, but the cirrus and cumulus mean that sunsight is limited. More noticible wind here that in ash vale.
-
Started with high level cloud, but now that's cleared and some Cumulus is starting to build up.

Yes I saw it, it made me jump because it was so bright! Was a massive flash, seemed a bit orange/yellow. Couldn't tell if intra-cloud or cg. Expected immediate thunder but it took a second or two; there was a bang, then a crumple type noise followed by a really loud booming rumble. Shame only one strike though judging by the travel chaos it's caused around here probably just as well.
Hmm, interesting. Thanks!

Deffo positive strike from what people are saying on Facebook that it "banged" then rumbled or something it hent up..
Oh, such a shame I didn't hear it in the distance.
3 minutes ago, Mapantz said:Oh, cheers. Just heard from South West Trains that is struck railway signalling equipment.

Well that single massive lightning flash has taken out all the signalling on the Windsor train line, huge delays/cancellations etc. Must have been a powerful strike!
Must have been a positive strike, quite rare I believe. Did you see it; was it Cloud to Ground? Presumably it was.

Nah non, just rain and that lightning strike was positive, people on my Facebook closer too it said the thunder shook the windows!!
Wow, didn't even hear it here! No sign of any convective activity here; the rain isn't even that heavy.

KABOOM!!!!!!!!!!!! Told yu right over my head too world class
Oh, I'm all jealous now, your so lucky! Any hail in Thorpe?
-
Just rain at the moment. A shame, but then the heaviest area of precipitation hasn't reached me yet.
-

Wait for it.. Will it won't it it's gaining some oomph!
Hmm, yes, hopefully we can get at least some hail. Well we'll soon see as it's darkening over, and precip. looks imminent. Sadly I think the heaviest area of precipitation will go north of here.
-
Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be much thunder activity in the area of rain to the SW, but apparently there is some hail in it. Will be interesting...
-
Sunny start here, but some anvils in the distance to my south and west. Probably a sign of what's to come...

Rainy here today, some of it light, and some of it very heavy. BUT NO THUNDER! Very disappointing few days for me so far...
