No rain here! But a very nice show nonetheless. More please!
Ground shaking window rattling stuff, that's just the thunder. Rivers of water too. Fab CGs almost constant for ten minutes.
-
Beautiful cg just observed. Lightning every 20 secs or so now.
Holy sheet that was good. Massive deluge and about a dozen close strikes. Eased off a bit now.
-
Incredible ten fifteen minutes worth then quite spectacular! Absolute deluge and ear splitting thunder. Some very very close strikes! More like it alright.
-
Awesome multiple CGs raining down.

Forget streams further afield we have an electrical storm alright. Can only get better. Awaiting a deluge of rain later.
-
Lightning and thunder becoming more frequent.
-
This could be a classic, storms migrating northwards and expanding. Wind almost constant?
-
We have supercellular activity towards our far south, wind is manic out there has to be said! A warm one at that.
-
Any updates on Bournemouth LOL
-
Be a brave call to write off tonight, in terms of thunderstorms anyway. Long over due a decent electrical storm so everything crossed.
-
Lovely clearance bye bye cloud and showers.
-
Is that 1000km-long train of lightning flashes set to miss us all? What a bloody waste!
Should make the Arctic circle by dawn.

Good little shower that. Certainly bought out the slugs and snails. May get crunchie underfoot later.

Yesterday severe storm that hit North Yorkshire
Can't believe there wasn't a single profanity heard...holes in the lawn? Some storm that.
Look's uninspiring for those further south and east tomorrow eve, i have to say.
A messy situation though, i'll be very susprised if it looks like that at 10pm tomorrow.
We won't know until dare I say tomorrow pm.

Why is it that storms will track northwards all the way up from the eastern Channel across the entire length of the North Sea and beyond but as soon as any form in the west over W France they often peter out and turn into mush? Today is one example LOL.

False return. I'm in MK and it's hot and sunny now with the odd cumulus floating about. Nothing thundery looking around at all, but i'm watching the sky as there is some energy available now the clouds broken so a storm popping up is possible this evening.
Looks like it, cheers.
-
Thunderstorm broken out in the channel...interesting!!!
Lightning just south of MK.
-
Storm lovers in Norway must be rubbing their mitts with glee! North Sea lit up like the proverbial Christmas tree.
Good soaker passing through, quite refreshing truth be known. Thunder? Haha!
-
Imagine this thread if a storm that size trundled it's way up from the South. Netweather would disintegrate into the online abyss.
There'd still be someone who'd complain lol...hailstones too small gunshot thunder not loud enough :-)

Here's to more widespread thunderstorms tomorrow evening and on. Nudging back towards 80F in old pence too. Better chance for those who have missed out so far, hopefully they'll materialise overnight to make it that bit more dramatic.
-
Yes many central southern areas missed out. Storms erupted just north of the patch and well we all know what happened next.Absolutely gutted i decided not to head out yesterday due to the situation looking like a bust around 6pm
So the North got pummelled by storms, whilst the South bathed in sun and us midlanders got stuck with cloud... Pfft
Now Friday nights affair looks like being confined to the east, not sure whether to head down the a5 for this, will it be anything like last night, or less powerful?
Friday pm has every chance of being quite nasty in places. From an IMBY point of view would prefer to see mega storms develop or arrive in the Bristol Avon area before trundling NNE. Local hail, frequent lighting and torrential rain a distinct possibility again. Where and when remains the million dollar question as nowcasting is the more sensible option for those who's expectations can sometimes outweigh the reality lol.
For the record, yesterday was a bust so all eyes for the next possible thundery episode.

Also worth pointing out, mozzies aren't too keen on moving air or the effect of a fan in a room the benefits are two fold.
-
Frustrations aside there's always later today! Remember be respectful to those who hear/see/smell supercells. Next time it could be you. Nuff said. Or the odd MCS.

Many share your frustration Monsieur cheese, nice to keep it one tidy thread yes? I remember when they were two a penny.
