Coventry now 33C. Phew!
-
Thunder reported Stratford Upon Avon area. Area of storms on the march northwards.
-
Coventry airport 31C.
-
Anyone who has written today off with regards to storm potential wait until the hailstones arrive LOL. With frequent thunder and lightning CGs you name it. Flash flooding too.
-
I was quite disappointed as previously it looked as if there was big potential Friday midday, however it has reduced the northward extent of the instability allowing overnight imports and potential in eastern areas Saturday too.
This always subject to change. 90F plus temps here and over the channel is a heady combination. Much to play for and as always storms are mighty difficult to predict, no better example than today as isolated cells developed from nothing.
All eyes towards France Thurs/Friday on.

There are plenty of BIG surprises to be had yet with regards to storm action. Including yes Fri into Sat. Import central?
-
A few sunny intervals still, getting steamy out there. 32C still possible hereabouts.
-
33 now omg
36.5C my guess as tops. Pesky cloud cover may stop it reaching 38!
-
Quite rapid cloud cover and increased humidity means they're brewing alright. Anywhere could catch a storm over the next few days. In terms of severity anything from a distant rumble to almost full blown supercell. Potential cannot be ruled out completely.
-
These localised storms will develop from nowhere, fast! Going to get pretty noisy later.
-
Developments further south and west continue. Could get quite noisy for some later and just a bit soggy! Be great to catch an evening or night electrical storm as temps peak at 33C for central parts.
-
Going to be some rather contented storm lovers as the day progresses. Temps are still soaring and as the more unstable air mass makes further inroads some big fireworks are highly likely for some. Spanish plume associated fireworks.
-
32C should feel quite warm later today.
-
The storm over Biscay is now morphed into 2 distinct cells.... 00:41
That's becoming quite a beast, what proper plumes are actually made of. Bring it on. Summer's here!
-
For no apparent reason, going to be with jelly and a cucumber, sounds a wee bit 'Ooh Matron'!
What was the question again :-)
-
Heat aside I believe there'll be some newsworthy thunderstorms incoming during the next few days. Homegrown mixed in with a few hefty imports. Moderate/Large hail, gusty winds and high rainfall spot totals in a short space of time. Some pretty spectacular electrical storms in places both during the day and night time period. Typically a summer spell of weather which we don't always see very often.
Around 40C temps over France, Benelux with a stirring S/SE flow is only a day or so away.

A 30 would be pretty splendid, if that's your thing. Tonight should be a tester with temperatures set to remain in the or close to the 70F bracket until dawn. Odd rogue flash and rumble perhaps.
-
The flaw of sleeping outside is that it starts getting light from 4am!
Eye mask? Ear plugs (noisy clucks) and the friendly milkman. If they still exist that is? Bird song? Actually stick with my cucumber theory, all should be cool. Going to bed in a giant bowl of jelly?

24c.....
If there's a place I'd say may get a few flickers later on then you're not far away I reckon.

Fill the fridge with plenty of cucumbers or enough to cover your average bed. Once chilled remove and place in bed. No sheets required. Or just sleep in the garden? Hammocks have their uses.
-
Quite a bit of uncertainty remains, not often do these plumes roll in. Best to keep an open mind as expectations can quickly overtake reality on the ground. As for pants? Too hot for them.
-
Looking forward to a severe night time storm, especially if 30C is breached only a few hours beforehand. Not too fussed if they do occur during the daytime beggars can't be choosers. Getting steamier out there almost on an hourly basis!
-
There will be plenty so called bites of the cherry, panic not required. Those cherries will be very juicy indeed.

First isolated but locally severe storms quite likely to fire later especially into parts of Wales, NW England right down the spine of the country Pennines area into parts of Scotland. Heat sure is building add increasing humidity plus all the other juicy ingredients remain on tap, it is bound to go bang rather spectacularly at some point this week. Like buses, these big storms may well all come at once!

Humidity up a peg. Ideally some more roasting sunshine a 32C then a lively electrical storm into this evening. Four days off so not bad timing. Don't envy anyone stuck in a jam today! Unless there's some aircon.
