  1. I'm generally not that annoyed about the weather here but it's starting to get on my nerves snow wise. This winter so far: Frosts: 2 (Had as much in November.) Snow: 0 Fog: 1 Lowest Temp: -6 (This was actually good) Rain and dullness: Most days. Last snow fallen: December 2012 (Here's the problem) Too many times the radar has shown snow over here but there's been nothing. Let's hope February is better.
  2. Got down to -6 here last night and as the sun rises I can see a good frost. Still -4 here so coldest night of the winter so far.
  3. Jan: Mild and wet with a few cool spells at the end of the month. Feb: Cool with strong storms at the start of the month followed by a mainly dry second half. Mar: Cool with sunny and cloudy days and a few frosts at the end of the month with potential for snow in Scotland/Lakes area. Apr: The first week may see some snow and chilly conditions across the north and frosts throughout the country but it becomes more mild and rainy as the month goes on. May: Very rainy with average temperatures across the whole month. Jun: Less rainy than May with the potential of some thundery showers in the third week but still no notable hot spells. Jul: The month will start poor with below average temperatures and rain but will surprise us with a warm second half and a thundery outbreak across the Central South/South East. Aug: The month will start warm with a plume around the 10th bringing some strong thunderstorms going up the centre of the country that week it will also bring a couple of 30.C + days in England. The month will then stay dry and warm making it one of the best Augusts in a while. Sep: Will still be warm with thundery showers at the start however change will be on the way with a dull wet end. Oct: Will be cloudy , quite wet and boring with a cooler spell around Hallowe'en. Nov: Will be like late October and generally getting colder with widespread frosts and snow as far south as the Midlands towards the end. Dec: Will start off cold with a couple of ice days and heavy snow in the north with flurries and a bit of snow in the south but it will turn milder and wetter towards Jan 2017.
  4. The wind is here alright. Looks like a hurricane out there luckily the fence is surrounded by bushes but its nearly knocking them over when a gust comes.
  5. Happy Christmas to the South West and beyond. Let's hope that 2016 brings lots of snow and thunderstorms
  6. A nice day with the sun making an appearance which is quite rare this year. Sky: Patches of blue sky and a mix of clouds. Rainfall : 0mm , but some showers in the distance. Temp : 9.C Also a potential horseshoe vortex cloud today(a video I just watched looked exactly like it.) at around 8:20. It was long and thin and lasted for around half a minute.
  7. Finally something noteworthy of reporting Moderate Squall Line just passed through here bringing fat , juicy drops of rain pounding the roof. The winds didn't pick up too much but they did a little. All in all just happy to see some cool weather again.
  8. Please remove this post if needed but I've looked all over the gallery and can't find my old profile picture I uploaded?
  9. Agreed. I'd say gusts barely reaching 40mph for a short period of time here and when the worst was expected it felt like a normal day with a slight wind.
  10. It's 8.C here right now with intense gusts (force 7) and drizzle. Missed the intense shower this morning and now the broken squall line. Muck throughout the day...
  11. Well the cirrus clouds have gone and been replaced by grey muck but it was a nice morning. Temp: 4.C Also I saw two sundogs today ; a bright one on the right at around 9:00 and another one on the left , but not as bright at 10:00. I'm sure this is a coincidence but today at roughly the time the sundog appeared I had a great time with a friend and then when it roughly disappeared they left. Also the other time I saw a sundog this year was on Scilly on the most one of the most amazing walks of my life... Maybe they bring good luck
  12. A chilly -2.C this morning. First decent frost with the first pond freeze of the year. Mostly clear with a mix of Cirrus and Mackerel sky in the East. Also my 100th post
  13. Hit 0.C here overnight and has only risen to 0.5C. There is a thin dusting of ice on the shed roof and it's the first de-icing for the car The grass is slightly white but no major frost and there's a mackerel sky.
  14. Just as a supposed snow flurry passed over on the radar nothing happened. Still seen no snow for nearly three years but I'll hope.
  15. That snow shower is teasing me so much It's a few miles south of me but just too far away , in fact I can see the edge of the cloud right now. Hoping that the showers over the Brecon Beacons will survive the journey to here.
  16. A cool 4.C here now. Hoping we'll see at least some sleet and the first real frost this weekend , fingers crossed .
  17. Finally a pleasant day! After the muck cleared this morning I can actually see the sun and the sky is nearly clear. Temp is a cool 7.C
