  1. Today sums up my year. Left West Oxfordshire yesterday to travel to the Lakes. Had a lovely day in the sun watching the radar as things kicked off back home after a year of nothing! Oh well
  2. Some very intense rain over Brittany, with some strikes on the leading edge. Is this what is coming our way or will the rain intensity die off?
  3. I have seen an article stating that there was a Spanish Plume due next week that would last for 6 weeks. However, there were 2 problems with the article: 1. It was on the Daily Express website 2. It was written by Nathan Rao
  4. I always enjoy these days, with the expectation of something very big around the corner, but at the same time knowing I will probably be disappointed when it all ends up to my east or a Kent clipper. Although I've had a couple of rumbles around me, I'm still waiting for one right overhead, but there is a long way to go in the summer and I always thought July offered the biggest opportunities to experience something. Will be reading the thread in anticipation over the next couple of days
  5. I am south east of Oxford centre. The sky has been black for last half hour with rain around me but hardly any rain overhead but plenty of continuing development. Can't work out which way it is all moving.
  6. Once again there is a patch of nothingness extending from Bristol, through Swindon to North of Oxford. Seems to be the case on many of these convective days. The skys are very dark in Oxford though and the sun keeps popping out, so I still have some hope for today
  7. Im driving on Friday from W Oxfordshire to Bournemouth Could be an interesting one. Knowing my luck both locations will get storms and I will miss them at both ends! Trying to use the forecasts to work out when is the best time to leave in the morning, The current answer appears to be - 'stay at home'!
  8. Bournemouth cell seems to have progressed to Marlborough. I'm lying in bed in W Oxfordshire hoping it makes it my way. Distant thunder now approaching
  9. I'm just on the edge of 'severe' in the South Midlands, but have seen this before and ended up with nothing. This week, it seems that everything forming in France has split into two and gone up the West coast or towards London. Nothing has made it to this area Waiting more in hope than anticipation for tomorrow
