  1. And a Tripod is an essential piece of kit, even if you just buy a $20 one from Walmart leave it in the boot and use it as and when, and you can even leave it for other guests and not worry about taking it home. We usually go out for dinner closeby to the Hotel on the 9th to get to know each other and chat about was is and what is not expected. Not long now
  2. Dodge City Twins - 24th May 2016 Pretty sure you will be ok Mark. Every single Tour since 2008 has seen at least 1 Supercell and we have seen most of the stunning structured ones over the last 7 years. We also top the Tornado numbers for the last 3 years out of all the Tour groups. Here are some of our structured Supercell pictures from the last few years. Wray Supercell May 7th 2016 Broken Bow Supercell - May 26th 2013 Kansas Supercell - May 10th 2014 Simla Supercell - June 2015
  3. Yes as Olly has said we pretty much always have a get together meal the night before the chasing begins for meet and greet and to answer any questions you have and to run through the basics of safety etc. The only time we wont do this is if we have everyone safe and landed and the risk is much further away for day 1 chasing and then we will be on our way. 2 Months today for the Staff!! Cant wait to meet you all
  4. Its an ESE wards moving Cold Front nothing out of the ordinary for the USA With these systems
  5. In all seriousness you can see the trough sling shotting the precip around and can almost picture how that is going to evolve overnight, I am pretty sure some places will get a dusting before the warmer dp's come through tomorrow, watch that area up near Southwold as well, it only takes that to get its act together and interact with the feature coming from Benelux and you could have something more substantial. Dont give up yet S Easterners!
  6. Didnt say it would be a snow streamer Lol - God cant wait for the convective days of April, the warm sun and then storm chasing, this Drear-Esterly and crud from the North Sea is soul destroying.
  7. Snow has settled on cars and roofs in Leigh On Sea, nuisence value snow though must be said
  8. You will injure yourself down Crown Hill Vesuvius and you know it I reckon Hadleigh Castle still has some of the best sledging around our parts
  9. Yep Leigh On Sea as well. There is more than 1 weather nutter in our area then lol
  10. What part of Essex are you from ? And dont listen to Nick he is from Wolverhampton and talks funny
  11. Think you mean last chase day is 30th and head home 31st Nick ? Nick is correct in what he says above though, the arrival and departure days are not technically chase days they are the travel days. If you are arriving a day earlier on the 30th we will still be on the last chase day of Tour 2 so just make your way to the Base Hotel, if you were coming in on the changeover day itself then we generally meet you at car rentals. All this information will be sent out in the welcome pack Paul M sends to you 3-4 weeks before the trip begins anyway. Hope this helps
  12. Hi Stu Numerous others have used 3rd party operators and had no problems so think it should be ok, I always book with BA so cant vouch for that route although others am sure will be along in this thread to talk through their findings and I know lots have booked via Skyscanner etc for this years trip so will advice I would imagine
  13. Yep 3 cars on Tour 1! See you all out there in May!
  14. Hi Jodie Am no expert on photography as I leave that to the clever people my job is to find you guys the Tornadoes but there are plenty on here who will guide you in that area, some professional and some just like you. Am sure someone will be along in the next few days to reply on that. With regards to holdall some people bring those long sports type holdalls that can easily fit in 10-12 days clothes, toiletries etc so that will be fine. Regards Paul
  15. Last chase day for Netweather and it seems fitting that we started and are ending in Colorado. Made the long drive yesterday from Montana to Colorado as it looked decent for some storms around Denver for Day 10. Going to concentrate on structure, lightning and hail today. Flying back tomorrow and thanks for following us this year! Paul & Team
  16. Last chase day probably for the tours for 2016 with not much on offer over the next few days after this and its an enhanced risk for supercells and storms in extreme Montana and maybe even Canada ? Will be making our way back towards Colorado tomorrow. Its been a strange old season this one Regards Paul
  17. Hopefully the Cap can be overcome today for some daytime Supercells in the above states.
  18. Well you would not have liked Colorado today, She just did not want to play today. Will probably put down some tubes tomorrow when nobody is there thats the sort of temptress she is
  19. Day 3 of Tour 4 and it looks like some Colorado Magic could be in store with 60's dewpoints and upslope easterlies it looks like a solid day of Supercells in the Magical State, been waiting all season for a day like today. Paul S & Team
  20. Have done the hard part over the last 30 hours and driven 1535 miles from Dallas via Denver to Miles City (Montana) in readiness for a decent looking day today near the Montana/North Dakota and Canadian Border. Hoping for some Supercells with a decent chance of a High Plains tornado on Saturday. 1st Day of Tour 4 and we are raring to go!
  21. Heading to pick up the peeps in Denver then onto Montana. Spending a little time at the Farm atm north of Wichita
