  1. ENE for the win down here - These Outbreaks from the NW very rarely give us the goods. 2nd December 2010 last time we had the optimum wind direction with -15c Uppers. 34cm of level snow and 28 hours of continuous snow in SE Essex
  2. Yes there is a really good thread, an inversion scuppered us and those polystyrene balls just blew along the road. The wonders of weather and thats why we love it!
  3. Top 5 in my 45 years as follows for SE Essex 1. January 1987 2. Nov/Dec 2010 3. February 1991 4. Winter of 1979 5. 1st to 3rd Feb 2009 So when you look at it we have had 2 notable xtreme events in the last 8 Years so not all bad. But that period from 1991 to 2009 was like pulling teeth!
  4. The Orange and yellow particles now starting to reach far East Essex now as well, certainly not going to get to 24c now in the South East!
  5. Get your ass to Holyhead! Looks like the Bullseye for NW Wales!
  6. Will do! JC check Xc Weather and you will see 21mph buddy certainly not 40mph, I am 3 miles from you
  7. We must be in the Eye in SE Essex, not a breath of wind! Waiting to see the stars. Might see Weed Strimmer in the garden if I am lucky
  8. Dont know about Roger but Stu definately isnt on this one......................but Spoke with Stu last Wednesday He has said he will hook up with me in either 2018 or 2019 as his Comeback Hurricane as he wants to get his percentages up again He has 3 Eye Intercepts our of 11 but wants to make it 4 from 12 soon!
  9. Anyway back on Topic, Who thinks this is going to go across Florida and across to the East Coast or ride up the coast ? Thats the next question with Irma who clearly has a mind of her own!
  10. His voice never stops you mean! Having chased numerous times in Tornado Alley on the same storms as him the exaggeration is all for viewer numbers sadly. Still never forgiven him for not even saying thank you when me and my team pulled his car and his support tv crews car out of a ditch in Colorado 4 years back. Not even as much as a Thank you on the day or after when I messaged him on facebook Manners Cost nothing! If he was in a ditch in his big red suv again would we stop ?? Nope but we would take pictures! Ask Nick F he was there and he like me cannot stand the bloke!
  11. What a drama queen Pitroski is!! 125mph gusts he reckons as he is driving, pulls up and the palm tree is barely swaying with 35mph winds. Seen worse on the South Coast lol
  12. Dry air really messing with Irma now, its the surge that is going to be the big talking point IMHO CNN & NHC pretty much spot on with Cat 3 I reckon!
  13. Amazing Picture of the Shelf over Southend Airport this evening (Not Mine btw) was in London!
  14. Jesus! 8mph short of Cat 5 for Hurricane Jose. If Hurricane Irma regains Cat 5 Status which is possible, here is the question Has there ever been 2 Category 5 Hurricanes on the go at the same time ??
  15. Anyone know what happened to Charlie MC Charlie who had the facebook live from that Hotel in Turks & Caicos last night ? Was watching until 1230am our time but then all the facebook feeds went down ? Was that due to them cutting the electricity like all the other Islands have done ? Would like to see how that one went as he had a great location
  16. Yh its a Pub Chat topic over a few pints! Back on Topic with Irma destroying the Western Atlantic!
  17. Yes no brainer with the warmr SST's as we all know thats what makes Hurricanes survive! But with no data Pre 1851 in the Western Atlantic how do we know with certainty that fluxuations never occured 300-500 years ago, thats what I am trying to get across and until someone convinces me 110% that it could/would not have happened then I wont believe in it. The guy above is suggesting that a breeze would kill numerous in the 1700's if I am reading that correctly, but with Vineyards in the South of England and a balmy climate in Scotland 300 years ago then surely such differences were found around the world as well, and that surely could not be blamed on AGW ? Link to the 1703 Storm by the way in case anyone thought that was a 990 LP that hit the Uk https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Storm_of_1703
  18. Thanks Knocker, No never heard of that but will definately find that book as all that Historic Weather Fascinates me! Also the big storms of the Uk in the 1700's which wiped out thousands of people. Remember the Uk has also had 2 EF5 Strength Tornadoes and again one a thousand years ago and another in the 1700s
  19. Seems Global Warming was in effect in the early 20th Century as well. The 1900 Galveston Hurricane being one of the worst but also 3 Miami Strikes in years 1926, 1928 and 1935 Link to the worst and similar path to Irma below https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1926_Miami_hurricane I agree we are not helping our planet but still not converted to AGW, am a firm believer in Cycles but not getting into all that stuff on this thread
  20. Yh that last Stream withe the 6-7 year old girl is ridiculous with all that glass! I will tell you one thing the Turks and Caicos Islands look like a Millionaires Playground and Irma is going to bash that up real bad! Going to be some seriously unamused people on those Islands
  21. Lets hope he does a better job of it than the Eclipse which was pretty embarrassing!
