Thank you

I remember 23rd July 2013 easily, i think that was the most humid morning ive ever felt in the UK, when the 3 - 4 week heatwave broke down into some impressive thunderstorms.

Looks to be pretty active rain showers along the same line as the front in the SW Midlands at the moment. Feels abit muggy out too.

Seems to be 2 very active cells that have come up in the SW of Texas like you said.

Metcheck has a thunderstorm advisory out, for NW England/Midlands and Wales tomorrow.

Huge storm in gulf of mexico at the moment, stunning lightning rates and a huge mothership anvil looking on the satalitte.

Remember on Wednesday, as costa del fal mentioned, there were about 2 - 3 soft hail/snow showers and each of them were getting heavier, but they were nothing compared to the storm on the evening, pea sized soft hail, 3 bright flashes of pink lightning and deep rumbles of thunder along with soft good gusts of wind. A slight covering of soft hail on the grass, that then froze overnight, then woke up to a slight dusting of snow. Not bad. Also the 2nd thunderstorm for Walsall.

One notable theme ive seen on the long range model is the frequency of cold spells the uk has, especially aftyer christmas and especially during febuary, one run from about a week ago saw britain under a cold spell through the whole month.

I agree, great to see some winter charts appearing, early too

Heavy rain for the past half hour here, with a torrential burst, now winds have picked up looking very autumnal

Quite heavy rain here in the heart of the black country at the moment, kind of got a feeling there could be some intense showers with the odd thundersotrm tomorrow as we have cool air with still pretty strong sunshine, similar set up like we had in the spring which brought some decent thunderstorms to the east especially.

If the charts we have had for most of the summer were in the middle of winter, we would have constant cold blasts with short milder interludes, so hopefully the charts will continue into winter so all cold/snow lovers can enjoy it, with 2- 3 terrible winters to make up for. Especially for the southerners.

Nice of you too pop in and post Welcome ,its going to be a radar watchers situation i think with any thundery potential ,even the professionals are scratching their heads ,although now are firming up on any potential ,so today sees the risk of rain and some thunder extending further north than previousely forecast .certainly a very interesting weather pattern on todays fax charts lets hope it can give some of us the action we are looking for cheers
and yeah, watched the last few forecasts and seen the confidence has firmed up. I doubt thunder will extend to far north though.

Hi all, new fresh shiny face to the community , been reading for a long time and thought it was time to sign up.
Anyways looks okay towards the southeast corner for tomorrow night especially, but lightning as we have seen a couple of times this summer may stay over the near continent, but some surprises may be likely, also a chance of some flash flooding again as the met has also saw issuing an early warning.

BBC did show some storms getting into the southeast overnight, this could be the start.
