  1. No change in Sunny Sheffield still 3.6C rainfall 91.3mm 112.7% above average.
  2. Well it's a case of waiting and seeing what turns up.
  3. That means a record warm Feb then. Don't take any notice of him he always says cold without fail every winter which generally ends up being a huge fail of a forecast.
  4. Presume you're talking about tomorrow. Looking at the latest GFS the main issue is that the rain is too far back from the really cold uppers and is really in the marginal limits. My thoughts are for a rain to snow to rain event if the rain is heavy enough at the beginning. I was quite surprised today to find out how high the snow line was this morning. So places like Fox house will starts as Snow and probably stay that way for several hours lower down around my height rain then pray for evaporative cooling and hopefully snow then rain by afternoon. We shall see.
  5. The radar prec type is model based so isn't always right add in a bit of evapourite cooling in the heavier areas and it will snow. Tomorrow looking a bit marginal for us as the precipitation is a bit far back from the low uppers so we are going to need a bit of evaporative cooling to help us out. The later tuns seem to backing away from blow torch westerlies so this coming week maybe more interesting than I originally thought.
  6. Light sleet here but the front dying away now so not expecting anything more bar an icy night.
  7. Dry here now after a spell of sleet. Was Snowing moderately over the top an hour ago and radar shows it pushing back towards us so maybe some more this afternoon but will need to have some evaporative cooling for lower areas like myself.
  8. Cloudy light sleet before midday cold. On top Tissington trail light snow which soon died away some sun through the clouds then as I left moderate Snow arrived this followed me back to Sheffield turning to sleet in Mony Ash and Bakewell while remaining as Snow around Fox House. Wet Snow around Meadowhead in Sheffield sleet where I live. No dry and cold. Temp 1.9C, Barometer 1002mb falling, Wind F1 WSW, Rainfall this morning 0.2mm
  9. A dry start after overnight rain sleet shower. Temp 0.9C, low 0.8C, Barometer 1003mb falling, Wind F3 SSW, Rainfall since midnight 0
  10. Well what a horrid start to morning. Sleet and wet snow which froze making a skating ring. For out six of the team I worked in fall over on the ice and decided it was best to forget the xray department and go another day. Could have a repeat later on if that decaying band of showers reaches us.
  11. Sunny Sheffield down to 3.6C -0.8C below normal. Rainfall 90.8mm 112.1% of normal. We should pass 100mm which a few years ago was fairly rare but is more common the last few years since 2007.
  12. The day started with freezing sleet and freezing wet snow making it treacherous under foot. Light showers died away by 7:30 and ice disappeared by mid morning. Dry with sunny spells from then until just when we had a light rain shower. Wind has increased slightly. Max temp 3.6C, now 2.5C, low 1C, Barometer 1007mb falling, Wind F4 WSW, Rainfall 0.4mm
  13. Cold with few sunny spells and light rain showers Max temp 3.6C now 1.9C low 0.8C, Barometer 1004mb rising, Wind F2 SW, Rainfall 8.2mm todays rainfall.
  14. Sunny Sheffield still at 3.7C -0.7 below normal. Rainfall 87.8mm 108.4% of normal
  15. Briefly windy one gust 55mph then a raid moderation. A case of blink and you've missed it.
  16. Dry after overnight sleet and then rain. Briefly windy but now moderating rapidly. Temp 2.2C falling, Barometer 994mb rising, Wind F5 W, Rainfall 5.8mm
  17. Sunny Sheffield at 3.7C -0.8C below normal, Rainfall 71.9mm 88.8% of average. GFS showing blow torch south westerlies coming in so large rises Sunday onward's.
  18. Snow showers turned to sleet and rain and a steady thaw. Winds dropped away after a breezy morning. Snow depth 3cm now patchy cover. Max temp 4.1C, now 2.9C, Barometer 1006mb falling, Wind F3 WSW, Rainfall 13.2mm
  19. Overnight snow showers have given a covering however showers have turned to rain and sleet so the cover is disappearing. Breezy with gusts up to 47mph Temp 1.8C low 0.1C, Barometer 998mb rising, Wind F4 W, Rainfall 2mm
  20. Oops talking about the wrong storm but even tonight doesn't look particularly stormy away from the coast. Top gusts in the lower forties. Can't see why it has been named to be honest.
  21. Downgraded even more on the 12oz no longer really a feature away from the channel and western coasts north wales southwards and south western Ireland and the south coast.. The downgrades do mean it's tracking further south so we may get a snow event instead if we get a further downgrade and correction south.
  22. Early sleet and snow showers became lighter and turning to rain and sleet on low ground. Max temp 3.2C now 2.3C, Barometer 991mb falling, Wind F3 WSW, Rainfall 13.8mm
  23. Sunny Sheffield up to 3.9C -0.6C below normal. Rainfall 56.7mm 70% of normal
  24. Further downgrades overnight still going to be a windy night should still hit 60 mph but 70 or higher have now gone.
