  1. The clouds this morning down in South Devon have been lovely, now it's clouded right over. Feels really warm and humid out. Just have a feeling there might be some nice storms later on Maybe not specifically down this part of the world, but it just feels right today. No science behind that prediction mind!
  2. Yeah, a little rogue one! Is there on the historical Blitzortung map for the UK from a few hours ago. As for the next few days, hopefully some more activity before Friday and after Sunday as going camping in Wales in between!
  3. Waiting to see what happens again today! Had our first proper storm down in this part of the South Hams (Kingsbridge area) yesterday which was nice, a couple of very close strikes too. Been a very long time since we have had anything like it I can tell you! Some of the villages like South Pool and Frogmore had some quite nasty flash flooding. I did manage to get a fairly nice shot yesterday; the heaviest rain really didn't shift a great deal for a good couple of hours. So Armageddon in one spot and pretty nice weather a couple of miles away as you can see from my pic!
  4. Incredible clouds round the Kingsbridge area, few tiny rumbles as well which I see are on the radar. So near yet so far!
  5. Keeping my fingers crossed that we get something down here in the deep South Hams this week Hardly had any rain whatsoever in the past 5 or 6 weeks, other than the odd bit of light rain or drizzle. Not that I would welcome flash flooding, but you know what I mean!
  6. Very murky this morning down in the South Hams; quite thick fog on the roads around 9am! Also got drenched walking back to the car about an hour ago... Keeping my fingers crossed for something later on today
  7. Yep, Sunday night and Monday morning looking particularly nasty for the whole of the South West, and especially in our neck of the woods near to the South Devon coast. The weather today is bad enough, the rain and wind so far has been just about the worst of the winter. And there is worse to come by the looks of it on Sun/Mon!
  8. Nothing materialised here during the day, but my wife was awake in the night and said she saw two flashes and rumbles of thunder. Trust me to miss it lol! Think this was possibly around midnight - 1am? Are there any sites with historical 24hr data at all? That would confirm exactly when.
  9. Several strikes recorded to NW of here apparently, too far away by the looks of it
  10. Haha! Well well, I personally haven't experienced a storm for the best part of two years (nothing whatsoever last year!). Looks like it might be my lucky day today (we are in Kingsbridge in S Devon).
  11. Evening all! First post for me, am a long time lurker on this forum and finally decided to sign up Looking forward to posting more in future. I thought best to post here as I've somehow managed to go through the whole of 2015 without any thunderstorm whatsoever (we live in Kingsbridge). There have been a few storms that have passed near to Plymouth over the past few months, but they produced very, very faint distant rumbles. Nothing more than that. Funny how it all works out, obviously some people on here have had some epic storms this year. Still plenty of time for one to turn up this year, but the clock is counting!
