  1. Sorry don't fancy anything goat Here we're having tray-baked soddages, onions, tomatoes, peppers and potato wedges, as it's nice outside It's been sunny all day, and got hot after lunch as long as you sat out of the NWesterly breeze.
  2. It feels chilly in the breeze today 12C, cloudy then sunny on and off. The auto window in the greenhouse is up and down like.... well, I'll leave it to you to complete the sentence
  3. Sunny and 16C here so far, at least that annoying cold wind has finally gone. Busy today but looking good for allotment visit tomorrow
  4. Don't know about the barbecue, as we were forecast sun today - but the sky looks dark and rainy to me. But what do I know, the MetO says it's sunny - I just look at what's there to see and tend to disagree Will this be a year with no proper summer weather?
  5. Sun is trying to break through now and temp up to 12C so I'm off to play on the allotment. Potato planting time has arrived at last, nearly 4 weeks later than normal for here!
  6. Sorry, but that's about as interesting as the weather Back to grey and miserable again here. Plenty of bees buzzing about but no flowers open for them. Sad really, they're having a bad enough time as it is, without the weather making things worse
  7. Cheers you up no end when the sun is shining and your joints stop aching Was a bit drizzly this morning but sun came at lunchtime and got up to 17C according to the local (at the end of my road) weather station.
  8. Any music that we don't personally like, we think of as bad music, doesn't mean we are right or that others have to agree with us. I don't care what music they are playing BUT whatever genre of music they choose, I shouldn't have to listen to it unless I want to - use the volume control FGS
  9. Wish I could say the same, tis cloudy here and the wind is getting up again, making it feel quite chilly. Not managed to get up to 10C yet, either
  10. Drizzle here this morning, the cat isn't Impressed at getting muddy feet again! The lawn is waterlogged, but even that's an improvement as yesterday it was completely underwater It's been around 6C all night and the forecast is for much the same all day as well *sigh* Fed up with grey skies, a bit of blue would be nice.....
  11. Much the same here, don't know if it's my age but when I went to get the paper - the 7.5C felt warm and humid rather than chilly
  12. Bright and sunny this morning, nice in the greenhouse away from that nagging cold wind. Nasty cold rain now with a 'feels like' of 3C - even feeling cooler indoors, so heating turned up a notch AGAIN *grump* Getting fed up with this yo-yoing between winter and spring, it's not doing the garden much good either, several of my larger shrubs have died
  13. Started the day just above freezing here and after lunch thin powder snow started, but it has now turned into big fat snowflakes falling heavily. Hopefully this will be the last of it - I'm fed up with cold now!
  14. Since when has Yarmouth been in 'Kent, Home counties and South London' as per title
  15. That would be like Feb/March 1963 IIRC. In March that year I went on a school trip down to Cornwall and the snow was banked up, higher than the train, on either side of the track I know many people are going to enjoy the cold, but please keep an eye on older family members, especially those that won't be able to get to the shops themselves.
  16. Back to today's weather It certainly feels colder this morning than the last few Spring-like days. It's overcast/grey and only 5C now and -1 in the greenhouse overnight.
  17. After a few warm springlike days we are back to the usual grey/drizzle - garden thermometer says10C but it's feeling colder cos it's damp. God help me if it gets really cold
  18. Had to take my fleece jacket off while digging on the allotment. It was 13C and beautiful in the sunshine - first warm sunny day in ages The cat is loving the door being ajar, so she can come and go as she wants - she hates using the cat-flap lol
  19. It started off calm and quite bright, overnight low of 3C which was warmer than expected. Now it's 7C, overcast with the odd patch of drizzle and wind has got up, gusting at 32mph. I retreated from the garden into the greenhouse for my coffee - much nicer in there :)
  20. Heavy snow showers here - big fat snowflakes, very pretty - but not settling as the ground is too wet at 3C
  21. Garden thermometer says 5C but it's flipping freezing out in that wind from the North. Hat, scarf and gloves weather. The cat decided she didn't want to go out after all, once the door was opened lol Can't say I blame her
