marky810 I wouldn't waste my money booking any sort of holiday in this country. In the Autumn and Winter I expect crud, this time of year it's just a p.. ss take.
Sat here with the woodburner on tickover, the van thermometer was showing 11 degrees at lunchtime . To say this is getting tedious has to be the understatement of the year.
Not had a lot of work lately, a friend has asked if I could tidy up her garden, lay some slabs, edging etc.
Arranged to start on Thursday, and what do I see,it's going to bl,,, dy p, s down, you couldn't f,,,, in make it up.!!!!
cheeky_monkey I remember 76 very well, I left school that year, and a week later was running around Bovington Camp Dorset in the Junior Leaders Regt.
As I recall the settled weather started around April, and kept going until the end of August. There was even a minister for water, and stand pipes in use in various places.
Roban I know where you're coming from. Even though I'm semi retired I still have to do a certain amount of work to keep the wolf from the door . Works been tight for about a year now, and even when a job comes in you're struggling to do it in this sh..te weather. Working outside is a completely different ballgame .
Andy Bown Same here, we lived in Frome for 9 years, and I have noticed that the weather is marginally more settled over there.
Shepton is a bl.. dy wind and rain magnate. We're talking about downsizing when we retire in a couple of years. Probably go back over that way again.
In Absence of True Seasons I can remember when Blair repealed the licencing laws. He reckoned that we would adopt a continental cafe style culture. What he did'nt take into account was our cr,,p miserable weather/climate. What a resounding success that has been.
Actually had blue skys here today, together with a curious glowing round thing which ,I am given to understand, is quite a rare event only making occasional appearances.
Went to our local garden centre the the other day, it's stuffed with Bbq's, garden furniture etc costing up to a couple of thousand pounds.
No doubt some poor gullible so and so will buy it, only to have it shoved in the garage for the entire summer.
SollyOlly Cheers Solly, I'm determined to get it just to spite the b,,,,,,ds.
MethuselahFair play to you Pete, work it into them for as long as you can mate.
