  1. Just had a look at the radar Pete, it appears to be clearing up a bit. It's driving me mad at the moment, constantly having to cover up work. I kind of expect it Autumn, Winter, and to some extent Spring, but at this time of year it just feels like a p,, ss take. Hope you're keeping ok.
  2. According to our local forecast, today was supposed to be a better day,!! I reckon she must have been hallucinating or something. It's no joke trying to make a living in this crap that's for sure .
  3. I used to run around it Beccs, couldn't do it now though.
  4. Our local weather presenter reckoned today would be a better day. You could have bl,, dy well fooled me.
  5. When you think of it Si, we have quite a few within a 30 odd mile radius. Cheddar, Blagdon, and Barrow Tanks, As well as Chew Valley Lake.
  6. Put him in a black coat, and top hat, with a face like that he would'nt look out of place sat in a hearse .
  7. Did'nt need to get a ticket for Glastonbury, can hear it perfectly well from my living room, not sure who's playing though
  8. I know what you mean, I'm currently building a 450 mm wide stone wall, about 15 metres long. By the time it's finished I'll have shifted 14 ton of stone, and mixed up about 2 ton of mortar. I end up walking back into the house like John Wayne most evenings. When our generation finally finishes , the s;;;it will really hit the fan as there is'nt anyone coming along to replace us. They talk about a skills shortage now, they aint seen nothing yet.
  9. I'm still working in the Building Trade, to be honest, I've found the last 4 days hard going. I never used to worry too much about the heat, or the cold, but now I've turned 63 I tend to struggle a bit. Thought about doing somethng else, but realistically, I don't thing anyone is going to rush to employ a knackered out old buzzard like me,
  10. He's a 13 year old Jack Russell, sticks to me like glue.
  11. Find this time of year tiring to be honest, the dog invariably wants to go out by about 0530 ,sometimes earlier. Because it's so light I can't get back to sleep, and so I end up completly bloody knackered . At least in the Autumn and Winter the little so and so sleeps through to about 0700.
  12. Getting to work on Wednesday is going to be a bloody nightmare around here , the roads will be rammed.
  13. Very interesting video, not the most flattering of screenshots though. The poor bloke looks like he's just had a particularly embarrassing accident in his trousers.
  14. Going down to Devon for a couple of days at the weekend. Sat looks good, Sunday might be a bit showery by the looks of it.
  15. No complaints from me at all, pleasantly warm, plenty of sunshine, and able to sit out in the garden.
  16. Works been a bit tight, finally get a few jobs in, and it p****s down practically every day. You couldn't f****in make it up.
  17. Longest day in about 6 weeks, not had a half decent week yet, just sayin ,
  18. Any change to our miserable godforsaken climate could only be an improvement.
  19. Had to light the wood burner this evening to take the chill off of the lounge. This poxy weather is getting tedious now.
  20. Bank Holiday weekend, same old crud as usual.
  21. We're doomed Mr Mannering, doomed doomed I tell ye fraser.jfif
  22. Certainly is, you cross over from France, over Exmoor, start to descend ,and there it is, a great big mass of bl...dy cloud, luckily I only have about 15 miles or so to travel, still have to get up at Stupid o Clock tomorrow morning though. Dropped one b....ck though , haven't flown since Covid, and was unaware that Sleazy Jet had changed the rules on cabin bags, staying with friends in Spain for a week so shouldn't really be a problem .
  23. I'm a happy Hector, off to sunnier climes tomorrow for a week, and then ,if the current output is to be believed , dry sunny weather here as well. It will make a nice change to be able to return to Bristol airport without it raining.
  24. Beers in, and the sense is out. I haven't ever been able to fathom the mentality myself.
