You have my sympathies, I lived in London and the south coast for twenty years until the early 2000's. I found the humidity accompanying hot spells unbearable back then, I dread to think what's it like now?

Not too bad overnight up here. I was out in the garden yesterday afternoon and it was hovering around 27C and still pretty bearable. The intensity of the sun isn't the same, sat under shade and it was pretty pleasant. Up at 3.30am this morning and the temperature was back down to 13.3C indoors. Longer nights are a factor now. It's the overnight humidity that I can't cope with in any hot spell and this feels fine at the moment. Not sure about later in the week and it might be more difficult for the those located further south but for me so far this is quite bearable.

Humidity is building this afternoon in my neck of the woods.

Really lashing it down here now. As others have posted very much an early October vibe. I had to check I hadn't fallen asleep for a couple of months and woke up in Autumn. I'm not a big heat lover but definitely not this. Low to mid-twenties, blue sky and a nice breeze at this time of year would do me fine. Not looking good for the cricket either.

I'm up routinely at 3.30am at the moment. It's now quite noticeable that civil twilight is definitely getting later and later.

A welcome return as far as I'm concerned. Mid-summer, 7 or 8 weeks out from meteorological autumn seems about right to me.

I'm not a heat fan either up to around 24C is fine but above that it's very uncomfortable particularly the often associated humidity. Give me a bit of warmth in spring or autumn when the sun is weaker. I enjoy reading everyone's appreciation of the weather irrespective of their personal preference. I do see the hostility creeping in to posts, it's appears to be group think and if you dare fall out of the expected norms it's almost as if you're perceived to be jinxing the expected weather given the time of year.

I'm not expecting much although in fairness I didn't expect the front to reach us. Is the front further north or is it just larger than anticipated? It looks to be a bit ahead of schedule? -

I had to go out for a walk in that, at one point those were the largest flakes I've seen in ages. Smaller now but still fairly heavy. -

Started snowing here, decent size flakes, quite heavy and it's sticking. -

We had about 20 mins of reasonably heavy snow, big flakes but very wet. Looks to have cleared south now probably over Sandbach. -

Appears to have stopped here for now. That's the most snow I've seen in many years.
