  1. MetO has just upgraded my location to heavy snow for the next few hours, surely not?
  2. The words 'clutching' and 'straws' do come to mind when hoping that February delivers with the current run of winters and being located in the north-west. I can't help but lean to towards the 'winter is over' statement for the majority of the region!
  3. The MetO do seem to be on a good run particularly of highlighting non events. I'm still clinging to the thought of the upcoming solar minimum in 2019-2020!
  4. Just looking like an increasingly wet, windy and unpleasant spell of weather. I don't think there was ever much for us in this for the south or west of the region? Hopefully those in the north or east might get something.
  5. About time they rename that thread accurately to the 'South East Model Forecast' thread and move it to the regional section.
  6. Driving will be fun, how long do you think this will keep going for?
  7. Still going in Northwich. I guess it's the end of the system as it slips south-east and fades?
  8. I Just don't get it, it's actually snowing moderately now. Irish Sea in play? How long can this last for?
  9. Today's got to be a 0/10, a very light dusting. Yesterday was much better, a definite 1/10.
  10. There's barely anything here now. Just a light dusting that's melted already. Funnily enough we were under an amber warning that disappeared at 9am. Light snow predicted for this afternoon. London will end up with more snow than us. I'm struggling to remember the last time a significant snow event predicted actually materialised?
  11. Having driven around much of south Cheshire this morning I'd say there's actually relatively little snow, a couple of cm's. Doesn't really chime in with the met office's forecast but then again they can only call it as they see it. They'd be far more concerned about missing something completely than warning of something that didn't pan out.
  12. Little more than a dusting here, a few flakes floating around. The snow was actually quite bit heavier here yesterday. Just been out to near Stoke and they have quite a bit more. Still nice to see something this early in winter for once.
  13. The anticipation! I'm expecting it to suddenly grind to a halt and then track south-east.
  14. A friend of mine reporting very heavy snow just south of Stafford now.
  15. Looks a bit further north than expected to me, it's started to pivot. My location has had an upgrade from the met over the last few hours.
  16. Looks like it's nicely pepped up on the radar with another band incoming after the current one.
  17. Decent 20 minutes of snow here just stopped, sticking as well. Good that it's snow rather than the usual wintry mix.
  18. Agreed I know from past experience we tend to expect a certain outcome, I still think there's a good chance the south of the region will do well tomorrow even if we're no longer ground zero. It's only early December and it seems a lot more promising than recent years as well.
  19. Did someone say 'Cheshire Gap Streamer'? Looking promising this far out for the end of the week and through the weekend. Fingers crossed! Possibly a proper snow event?
  20. -0.5c here at 6.30am this morning. Really enjoyed it.
