  1. Jokes aside, halfway under the front now and still rain.. and upon inspection the dew point has actually risen by 1c!

weather apps have it turning in about an hour or two more here, but by that point i think it'll have shifted completely past Hunstanton

Think i was always a bit too north but still will hold out hope and stay positive for those further south facing a couple cm later on

What does this mean for East Anglia? I haven’t looked at the radar and I keep seeing people saying that the backend is already at Bedfordshire.

    It is bone dry here.

    Very confused.

Front has reached Hunstanton but nowhere near cleared us yet, i'd say you're about guaranteed some snow later, maybe even a couple cm over in norwich

still rain here in Hunstanton but i think first sleet is mixing in if my eyes are telling me the truth

  3. Well my lamppost is at the ready for tonight, and if we do get any signs of settling snow i will be waking family up for a midnight snow walk to make the most of it..

The last time it snowed overnight here was boxing day I think 2015, started about 11pm and settled well with i'd say nearly 5cm by 1am when it stopped.. woke up at 6am to go out with family to build snowmen and upon checking out the window it was all gone! I was certain i'd imagined it.. still am to be honest! Does anybody else remember that?

Just east of Bristol - around 200m above sea level

Wow, never knew that that area was so high  Always assumed it was close to sea level as they tend to struggle with snowfall but I guess that's just because of how far south it is

    Except that it’s rain!

Yes.. checking the south-west thread it does seem the radar is being a bit too enthusiastic with dealing out the pinks today

  5. Good luck all for any accumulations!

I think just about all of us should see a few falling flakes, possibly not settling and possibly not lasting much more then an hour or two but will still be a pretty sight nonetheless. Don't forget that we have Thursday evening to look forward to for another snowfall which i think might just be the one for some..

Just had an e-mail from Southeastern trains warning of possibly disruption on / from Thursday:

    Advanced severe weather alert

Possible Winter Weather Timetable from Thursday

    Hello,

We’re emailing to let you know in advance that due to forecast bad weather, we may need to run a Winter Weather Timetable from Thursday 31 January.

We’ll confirm this at least 24 hours in advance of the change and will send you another email to let you know.

Sounds like they know more then we do about Thursday.. maybe tomorrow night really is just a taste of what's to come!

I mentioned earlier in the day about the model runs slowly lowering the snow fall amounts one min we were talking close to a foot in places and now not even a inch?! I hope there's a reverse trend tomorrow

i may be wrong in saying but i don't think we were ever looking at more then a couple inches in places being realistic

personally if it's just a cm or two i'll take it and be happy with what i have as it's more then we've had in many other recent years, but if we do see upgrades in the 36 hours or so i definitely won't be saying no to them!
