Really nice big fluffy flakes coming down nicely now

Snow definitely just stepped up wow! Heaviest snowfall i’ve seen in years, instantly settled on the road in the past minute and left a full covering now
and back to lighter stuff now, seems like i’m just to the south of the heavy stuff sadly. although closing in on 1cm settled on the conservatory roof and a dusting spread out elsewhere
edit: another heavy burst with bigger flakes, very fun to watch as it can’t seem to make up its mind on how much wants to come down!

Been odd this Winter for East Anglia, as if I'm right your snowfall has come from frontal events. Norfolk normally is best situated from snow showers from the north sea.
I think you’re correct, normally we miss any snowfall from these events and it hits the midlands and either decays or is just too marginal by the time it’s here
the only time i’ve known so many days of snow since moving here in 2013 was the BFTE 2018, which is obviously favourable for eastern locations

Hopefully you’ll get some coverage when the heavy stuff starts.
i’m not expecting more then a dusting which’ll be gone by morning but it’s nice to see it fall again, it’s been a very good winter for me this year!

Started to stick now even though it’s very wet, this makes it the fourth time this winter that we’ve had a dusting or more! Impressive for my corner up here in norfolk where i’ve normally struggled to get one day

Two hours of a rain/snow mix has finally transitioned into a light snow with heavier precip incoming again, might finish with a dusting if it can start to settle

rain and snow mix for almost an hour here now, really trying it’s hardest to turn but not quite managing
temp 1c dp 0.4c

just started with a wintry mix here, we’ll see if it can transition into anything a bit more promising
-
Temp 0.5c & Dewpoint -0.3c
looking good for anything that arrives tonight here to be a bit wintry

Good luck to those further south who have yet to see anything this winter, the weekend could surprise some of you!
already a small chance of some flakes here tonight in Norfolk, which i definitely will be staying up late for (again!). some may be surprised but i’ve had more lamp post watching nights this year then i’ve had in years..

Cracking day today, 5c and sunny
recorded 9mm precip overnight which i assume was all from the snow thaw

Still over an inch of lying snow except from the pavement/roads which had turned to the biggest slushy mess ever, very sloppy under foot

Full credit to the Met Office, not sure about other areas but for St Albans they got the forecast pretty much spot on.
definitely warranted the amber warning locally for the Norfolk area, treacherous road conditions especially as the snow somehow completely coated most of the roads gritted late last night

bitter here still even after it’s moved through, i was expecting a rapid thaw and rise in temps but it seems to be going slowly. temp just below 1c minimal signs of melting except a slight drip from the neighbours gutter

Still snowing in Norwich, surely it's got to turn to sleet soon
Almost stopped here but definitely turned sleety, so light though it’s having no effect on the laying snow

Moderate snow for the last hour in Norwich and starting to get a decent covering, even on the main roads. Kids will be happy when they wake up!
Even snowing still in Hunstanton with 1cm coverage! not often Norfolk all gets in on the fun down to the coast

So looking like we will be 0 from 5 Snow attempts here since Dec 1st. The Models really don't have a clue about our corner of the world Do they
What a Let Down my Sledges face deary me you should see him
Third snowfall of the season here in Norfolk, although admittedly this is the first one to give more then just a dusting. i’d be happy to end the winter after today now i’ve got my snow fix, but it’d be selfish of me to say no to anymore snow if it means further south of the region can get some

Easily an inch, possibly more. would help if i could get out to it though

2-3cm when it stopped earlier, woken up and its melted considerably but still a covering on most surfaces
looks like a chance of catching a couple snow showers later this afternoon/evening before a very cold night so i expect anything that remains today could/should still be here tomorrow alongside a frost
