  1. Well, that Bexley cell has grown massively in size. Directly underneath me now but the good news is that the anvil has blocked out the sun and it's got quite dark underneath it. Good. Still rumbling away but becoming quieter now.
  2. 5 rumbles now from under the anvil but I think it's just gonna miss us going by radar movement. Mind you, saying that it's grown in size and still continues to do so but it's almost right underneath us now so unless it doe's something huge in the next 5 - 10 mins it's not going to hit directly here.
  3. Another couple of rumbles Went to look outside and can see the anvil much closer than radar showing (right in pic)...
  4. Just heard a rumble from that approaching cell (weird coz it's still pretty far away). On radar it looks like it's going to miss us. Edit - another faint rumble...
  5. Funny you say that, mines been covered in tree sap, which has then attracted dust/dirt! I haven't had it cleaned recently incase we got a storm that made it dirty again!
  6. Little cell just popped up to the southeast of me, quite some way away (Snodland) but winds are steering this way. Please come here, please come here...
  7. Yep, that's happened to me a lot over the years. I remember a particularly storm starved year a few years back when I'd had not one storm. Went to Dorset for a three day break at a friends house who was forecasted storms and guess what? I got a text to say we had a massive storm at home that lasted ages and came right over my house, with huge forks and everything. Meanwhile we had blue skies all weekend in Dorset. Couldn't make it up.
  8. I hope so (feeing fresher I mean). I'd love for it to bugger off though personally!
  9. Bexley storm passed now but can still hear distant thunder as it moves off. Definitely cooler by a few degrees. I just hope that blasted sun doesn't make a re-appearance this afternoon now. Edit - Annnnd as I say that it appears.
  10. Hi Alexis. Yeah, I have the uk tab bookmarked but can't see any zoom function.
  11. Only thing with this Bexley storm is there's no visible lightning (still, can't take any pics as at work at the mo). Plenty of occasional rumbles now, up to 11 I think (just had another one).
  12. Whoa, just noticed that HUGE storm up in Scotland as I panned the radar up. Anyone under that?
  13. This Maidstone (now Bexley) storm looks like it's back building on radar.
  14. Strange, four rumbles now but absolutely nothing showing on lightning maps. Blitz is working though but harder to track as view is so zoomed out.
  15. Convergence definitely seems much further east than modelled. Hopefully it will continue for the rest of the day, need that cooling rain badly. I love that smell of rain. As I type another small rumble.
  16. Been 30c all weekend here and not a single drop. You need all the ingredients to be in place, heat alone wont do it unfortunately.
  17. Ok, so this is a very welcome surprise, just had a huge crack of thunder here but didn't look stormy a few mins ago? Clouds bubbling up for sure but nothing stormy looking. Could it be from that Maidstone cell that's moved it's way towards us I wonder? I just want some lovely rain at the mo to cool things down but I'll take a storm if it's on the cards!
  18. Unfortunately that's going no where near me buddy. Oh I'd love to but I don't even have a passport (never been outside the uk, I'm not much of a traveller)!
  19. Consistently the hottest place in the country, not one drop of rain for over a month and a half let alone storms. Expecting another bust today. At this point I'm not even bothered about a storm (this year has tempered my expectations as so far it's been the worst year ever for storms round here - even worse than 2016). I would just like some rain, anything, to cool this place down. It's unbearable.
  20. Wasn't that the year of the confirmed london supercell? I could see it from here and also had a brilliant import that night that arrived about midnight and lasted for 1.5 hours.
  21. Well, after an incredibly promising day where I saw huge cb's all day long (seriously, I don't ever recall seeing a sky as convective as that) it turned out to be yet another bust for me. I think I must've been the only place in the uk that DIDN'T get a storm! I noticed on radar that storms were practically still and not moving - hardly any wind at all, so were developing rapidly in place and staying there and it must've been absolutely torrential under those. Lovely day for sky watching (wanted to take some photos to share but was driving for most of the day) but a huge disappointment for me personally yet again.
  22. A few flashes and bangs yesterday at about 6pm. Nothing noteworthy/major but nice all the same after missing out on all the activity lately. It died pretty quickly. Hoping for more!
  23. Well, absolutely bugger all from fri - this morning. Really desperate for some action now.
  24. Oh god, those damm wheelie bins! Round there the neighbours seem to be obsessed with them - I hear them all the time, especially when storms are forecast in my area and it's starting to rain, often mistaking them for a rumble or two!
