That new cell south of Harlow has my name on it. Winds locally moving S/E, very moody and impressive looking skies
Edit to add: Now the sky has turned pink!!!!!
I have a huge cell rapidly approaching from my west. Pink on the right side of it and amber on the other! I would take some pics but the phone is off and charging. Its just started to pour.

Just heard thunder from a dark looking cell appoaching from my west. Didn't expect that!

Yep already did earlier..
There was also one filmed in Beccles and one in the fens also..
Ah man, I would've loved to see that. I now await the cringeworthy and quite incorrect news headlines of "Mini Tornado" (no such thing) or "What appeared to be a Tornado" (I'm sorry...APPEARED TO BE???!!!???!?). Grrrrrr.

That chelmsford storm looks like an absolute monster!
-
Radar showing a bunch of small cells approaching from the west heading for london. Perhaps they will make their way here and develop into something (wishful thinking)? Suns just popped out briefly. Still doesn't seem warm/humid enough round here today for storm activity to me but you never know.

Cheers......I wouldn't say wall cloud just a low level cell at a bit of distance
Yeah I wasn't sure if it was just scud but looked a bit more organised. It's hard to tell sometimes! As I said though, beautiful pic mate.

Wow, thats a great picture. Look at the base on that thing! Is that a wall cloud on the lower right? It looks pretty ominous and we know the area has famously had tornados in the past...

Stopped raining and the sun came out for a little while this afternoon but has clouded over now. No where near as hot or humid as it has been earlier this week and still feeling quite cool. However...skies darkening to my west and its headed in my direction...
-
Been lightly raining since 8am here. Overcast and cool. Does not feel stormy in any way, although after the hot and humid week we've just had I welcome this nice cool weather for a little while.
-
Did have hazy sunshine after those earlier rumbling cells cleard from mid afternoon and very warm and humid feeling, but its clouded over now. Nothing significant on the horizon that I can see. I think with the nature of the current setup, that could be it for these parts today. I'd love a nice relaxing night time storm as I'm going to bed this evening, but I doubt it's going to happen today. Tomorrow is looking ok, could be in with another chance of seeing something.

Rain stopped now. Very dark from my west stretching right to my north. It's moving away very slowly but no wind or breeze at all at ground level. Completely still.
-
Orpington cell has died. Just turned to rain now which has been above me for a while now. Birds are singing again and its getting brighter. Maybe theres more to come though, its only just past three o'clock and still looks unstable and feels warm and muggy still.
-
Harry, has your cell died? I got heavy rain now coming from the south but no more rumbles from your cell for about ten minutes now.
-
Light rain now. Looks like the brighton cell is also tracking this way!
-
Its been dry all this time but a few very light spots starting to fall. And just as I type that the rain has stopped. Very calm and still now.
Harry, I can now hear your cell rumbling away to my south and getting louder and more frequent.
-
Cell is to my northwest now and rumbling away. No lightning seen though. Looks like it's moving away. Curious no strikes showing on lightningmaps from this cell. However, it appears Harrys orpington cell is headed this way so I may have another treat to look forward to!
-
Another rumble. I think the cell is to my west, can just about see it thrugh the clouds. No wind at all here, no bird song, nothing. My favourite part - the calm before the storm.
EDIT - Another two rumbles.

Not much happening down here. Quite cool compared to what we have experienced these past few days although it is slowly warming. However, I can't see there being any storms today due to lack of instability from what I can see. Also, it just doesn't "feel" stormy or have the potential for storms for me and I have learned to trust my instincts over the years when it comes to storms. So, to quench my storm thirst a little, here are a couple of pics from wednesday of the cell that was to my east at bexley at 3:30pm which gave a couple of nice rumbles as I got out of the car. Sorry if these pics are a couple of days late...

Did some timelapses earlier of the cloud-base as it passed over. The lightning literally died at the point of taking it so I'm not sure if what I was seeing was the chaos of the updraughts and downdraughts being forced together and choking the cell, but it was quite stunning to watch.
Anyhow here's two screen grabs from the video (which I'll make available at a later time):
Really nice pictures. Looking forward to seeing the video.

The brentwood cell still hasnt arrived and has been sitting over the river decaying for the past hour. I was hoping for some rain to cool things down a bit but even that looks to be dissipating from that cell. Overall activity has wained and I think thats it for today. Still pleased with what I've seen and heard today.
