Another one January had average temps, above average rainfall and was very sunny. February was also average, though very dry and sunny. March and April were both warm, sunny and dry. May was very average all round. June was a very warm and sunny month, though slightly wetter than average. July was slightly warmer than average, dry with average sunshine. August was a hot, dry and very sunny month. Autumn was more of the same, with September being warm, exceptionally dry and sunny. October ended the run of warm months and was quite chilly, though still dry and sunny. November was mild, extremely wet and sunny. December closed the year by being extremely average in every way.

LetItSnow! They are the 3rd and 4th hottest Junes on record at Heathrow, after 1976 and 2023! Like an average July. 1976: 25.5c/13.7c 2023: 25.3c/13.5c 2017: 24.0c/13.9c 2018: 24.2c/13.1c

Here's one... January was a very average month, although had some exceptional cold mid month. February was slightly cooler, drier and duller than average. March had average temperatures but was dry and sunny. April was warm, dry and very sunny. May was cool with average rainfall and sunshine, with a very low absolute max for the month. June was a warm, dry and sunny month. July was a month of 2 halves, with a warm to hot, dry and sunny first half, and a cool, wet 2nd half. Overall it had average temps and sun, but was wet. August was cool, exceptionally wet and very dull. September was quite chilly, with average rainfall and above average sunshine. October was fairly average, though quite dry. November was very mild, exceptionally dull, and dry. This pattern continued in December, which was very mild, dry and very dull.

LetItSnow! Junes 2017 and 2018 were hot, so it is possible. We had 6 dull Julys in a row between 2007-2012.

LetItSnow! Southampton must have missed out 2019 style. June did not even reach 19c for an average high. Rainfall is the column on the right. Sunshine on the left below the year.

LetItSnow! An iconic game being released suggests maybe 1935, but in Southampton at least, not a warm or dry summer at all.

LetItSnow! It has hints of 1995 and 2022, but some months don't match. Or is it 1899? There aren't many years that are very warm in all 3 summer months.

Summer8906 Sunny Aprils compared to 1984 and 1987, Heathrow. 1987 wasn't special at all when compared to some actual sunny ones. 1984: 14.6c, 231 hours 1987: 15.8c, 153 hours 1990: 14.6c, 245 hours 1997: 15.6c, 219 hours 2002: 15.7c, 221 hours 2007: 18.9c, 244 hours 2010: 15.8c, 213 hours 2011: 19.7c, 234 hours 2015: 16.3c, 228 hours 2017: 15.8c, 202 hours 2020: 18.2c, 251 hours 2021: 13.1c, 224 hours

danm 2007 actually had just above average sun, with 1703 hours. March, April, November and December were sunny.

Summer8906 Dull as in cloudy a lot. The sunniest month all year was in the 190s. We haven't had a single year since that hasn't at least seen a 200+ hour month. April 1987 saw 153 hours of sun, duller than April 2023! March had averages of 8.5c/1.4c, that's getting towards 2013 territory. danm 2011 had a poor summer but the shoulder seasons were warm, dry and sunny. It was a dry year with only 92 rain days at Heathrow, and sunshine was around average with 1694 hours.

An easy one now. January started the year cool to cold at times, very wet and very dull. February recovered to more average temperatures and was quite dry, though dull. March was fairly average but with chilly nights even though it was dull and dry. April was very cold, very dry and very sunny. May was also very cool, very wet and exceptionally dull. The summer started with a warm, very wet and dull June. July started cool but then turned warmer, ending up close to average, but remaining wet and dull, though not as wet as June. August was very cool, not reaching 26c at any point, slightly drier than average and incredibly dull. September started hot, with a couple of 30c days, ending up warm and dull with near average rainfall. October was mild, wet and very dull. November had near average temps and sun but was very dry. December was very mild, wet and exceptionally dull. The year overall had an incredible lack of sunshine.

Summer8906 June was the only good month in 1986. Jan-May were horrific, looking at the stats. 1987 was just dull all the time, apart from in October. Summer was generally cool and wet, apart from a 3 week spell at the end of June and July (though never hot). The sunniest month of the year was May and didn't even get to 200 hours. 1988 was a disaster, apart from February and May.

1987, 1988, 2000, 2008, 2021 are the worst since I've been alive. Narrowly missing out is 1986, one of the worst years of all.

Spring started with a mild and sunny March, though wetter than average. April was warm, very dry and slightly sunnier than average. May closed the spring with average temperatures, though duller than average. June had average temperatures though it was dull and very wet. July was a warm, wet, humid month with average sunshine and frequent thunderstorms. August was often warm to hot, dry and sunny. September continued the warm, wet and sunny theme, though a change came in October, which had near average temps, was very dull and very wet. November was chilly, wet and dull. December was very mild, wet and sunny.
