  1. Well it's now gone a bit sleety up here. I bet it's slushy on the very tops up past grains bar. We usually do well in these setups so I am a bit disappointed tbh.
  2. Hi all, still raining moderately at 297m asl Oldham east. Feels quite mild now too.
  3. I am just about to do my scooter commute to work and I can tell you it's still raining heavily here. No sign of any sleet, never mind snow lol
  4. 297m asl here (near grains bar Oldham) and it is still just rain. Very wet and very cold indeed
  5. I wouldn't call it smashed up, I would call it under developed. Low heights start to dominate the arctic region prior to 120 so to me that is signalling the delayed but inevitable strengthening of the Polar Vortex and probably a return to a +AO. If modelling continues in the same vein then any weak ridging into Greenland will get flattened out as we head through Nov. Model watching has been good the past week or so but I don't think there has ever been modelled a full on Greenland block and the chart posted in the quote from last year, well, we could end up back in that position by mid month imo.
  6. The weather is not half as bad as the charts have been showing precip wise. Large areas of heavy rain moving NE through wales across the country only produced two quick showers and that was it, So largely dry and cloudy but still quite warm. Viewing the charts recently you would have almost expected washout conditions...
  7. To be fair, even if the broad scale pattern is to continue to be westerly I'd rather have transient HP ridging in from the SW than full on LP dominated Westerly / Nwesterly. I think quite a few people are looking for milder and less unsettled weather than full on southerly heatwaves to be honest. This cold wet weather is really getting to be a pain.
  8. Other than getting a tad milder the outlook still looking terrible with more and more low pressure systems heading our way. Wash out summer for most! Hoping that will change in time for August.
