  1. Wasn't August 2004 something like the thunderiest uk month ever or something? Source:
  2. Yeah, seen some unstable skies in London for a couple of days running. That said, if it's capped, it's capped. There ain't no shallow-fry lightning
  3. @monty2k13 We'll have to change the thread title to include IOM lol. Thanks for posting the footage though, I was keen to see some given the number of strikes on the radar.
  4. @Shellgateshead Beautiful aint it? This one was from sevenoaks at dawn a few weeks ago, looking towards the south coast
  5. It must have taken incredible concentration to play the piano that slowly at such a low pitch without accidentally speeding up
  6. I was apprehensive about uploading more pictures of clouds but luckily I caught this isolated CG. Not showing on blitzortung.
  7. So at 3 this morning I took a little drive into kent to greet a developing cell in the Channel as shown below: I started somewhere in Severnoaks and traversed east to almost Faversham. Naturally this little feature decided to strengthen when I was heading home tired. Lightning was sporadic, a few close strikes (bang 0.5 seconds after flash), and thunder was deep growls rather than cracks. Was this an elevated storm? countrylanecg.mp4
  8. It needs to die off pronto. Surely it's bad news for us in terms of energy right? Or might that not be the case?
  9. It is my birthday on Friday. Naturally my days off work don't coincide with this...
  10. Attention class: Where E = MC ^2 ECM plume event = North Sea MCS
  11. Stop with positivity! But you're right though. I'm less nervous than I would be if it was 18th July right now
  12. I saw the username Staplehurst and the word "encouraging" in the same small space. Consider me encouraged
  13. @Mapantz And the met office t-storm warning was last updated 24hrs ago. I think at the time there were rumours of a MCS import, which we know to be a wet mess
  14. Yep. It is day one of my 4-day weekend. There is a bit of clear weather behind this crud on the continent. However I feel like that convective stuff in the channel will produce more cloud hence no sunny fuel. I have no technical knowledge to base these hunches off
  15. Tomorrow is looking very promising.... For people that don't like severe weather
  16. This thing is dropping bolts every two minutes. Croydon looking westish
