  1. Just done some lampost -a- watching in my break and it's definitely snowing! Nice white over, hope it's still there when I come off shift at 07.30. I'm in Burton
  2. I thought snow was a dead cert for my region this week..... now it's mostly dry. Why do I keep falling for it? You would think that I would have learned by now.....
  3. I was getting confident of a short snow event on my neck of the woods this week ( well Monday/ Tuesday) but it appears all change. None forecast for here it seems.
  4. I agree with you totally! It perturbs me when things are ' out of order ' . Hence my saying that I long for the snow and ice. If I see bulbs up before we have had any true cold weather I almost wish they weren't there yet. I know I'm contradicting myself from my earlier comments, it was just that with all this gloomy, awful weather currently they gave me a lift. I look forward to spring but equally feel sad when it fades too quickly and fleetingly. I wish I didn't think too much......
  5. Absolutely! I write on my wall calendar when I sight the first Martins and Swallows. Here it is usually April 9th to 12th. As I see them, usually in dribs and drabs, I can't stop looking up ( if no ones around I shout hello ) equally I wish them well when they leave but I'm very sad. Re: the bees, I read about some being out and about all winter, interesting.
  6. I find November the worst of the year, gloomy and the thoughts of the shortest days to come. As soon as the solstice has happened it's better for a while but I then find this month tough. I look forward to the snow and frosts as at least it's beautiful! So far not much in the way of either but I'm hoping! This weekend I saw snowdrops and catkins, the earth is awakening, on the way up now!
  7. I'm needing to moan & I believe this is the thread to do so.... I allowed myself to get excited by the ramping up of a possible snowy xmas. So, today I despair that it is not happening, not only that but not even cold! And that hideous word MILD is being bandied about again. " At least it's mild, could be worse, could be snowing " How is drizzle & no sun better than pretty snow or at least frost & beautiful sunshine? Murky like now is awful
  8. I thought that there was a glimmer of hope for a bit of snow for xmas, or at least cold. Listening to Carol Kirkwood it appears not , she said the ' M' word - ruddy mild
  9. So disappointing, had none of the lovely snow this week, was looking forward to a bit this morning, albeit transient but no, straight to icy cold rain. It's not fair ( I'm stamping my feet )
  10. I am envious of all the snow my old home area of Sourh Warwickshire has had, not a flake here! However, spent the day in the area yesterday & enjoyed the picture perfect scenes. Pleased for you all, our turn next.
  11. Just started, a light fine fall of snow ❄ The first for me here after hearing all the weekends snow posts
  12. Not even a sniff of a flake here yet all the close surrounding area did/still have some.
  13. Everyone has it around me, even as close as 5miles away but I'm still waiting here! Hurry up please, sky is full & I can smell it.
  14. I've been looking on & off for a few days, it's looking good tonight.
  15. Break time on my night shift, 24c outside even now & the ward is steamy, not pleasant at all. Hope to sleep tomorrow daytime
  16. Ok I understand this but please cool yourself, you are probably shivering as Covid has raised your temp & the heat will make it worse. Take some paracetamol, drink plenty & ditch the duvet. Get well soon
  17. Just done a temp check 37.4c out ( Staffordshire/ Derbyshire border) 24c in a shut up house, appears to be working
