Finally some heavier showers starting to push into Norfolk in a discreet line. Some bright echoes exiting the Wash.
Lets hope the snow machine fires up. Although we have had an enjoyable spell of snow,, not beastly but very pleasant. Had enough to toboggan.
We never get snow here so awesome.
Temperature plummeting now . - 6.5. All good.

It's snowing here and there's a dusting on the ground that looks like a hard frost....
Same in Norfolk Poor ole show.

Nice. I reckon you are gonna be hit hard overnight. Thanks for pics.
Just push some up the coast please. ; ) we are getting 5 second bursts. very strange, still not covering the ground. If all else fails coming to Lowestoft tomorrow. Best Cod and chips in the east btw.

Local Radio nvm. Actually got a nice white garden at sea level so. That has not happened for a good 20 years. Was just expecting a beast tbh.
Today is a bonus was not expected. Hope to see some convection off the North Sea over the coming days.
I am just being boring because i am not getting enough snow.
Spits out dummy. Its been about 30 yr since the last viable easterly to give good snow depth on my coast. Was hoping for a white out. Good luck all. hope it smashes somewhere.

It was local radio who Ramped it up as 100 year event. I do have hope. But cannot see a countrywide disruption as it stands.
I cannot remember a good snowfall since we started measuring snow in centimeters. Feet and inches. Those were the days. LOL Wishing us all to have a heavy duty snowfall.

Great to not hear the drip drip drip
Not so great to see zero convection looking east from the Estuary
And where is the wind ?? Clouds are not moving up there
Eerie feel not a sound out there, where has the beast gone or is it purring asleep atm
I do feel this easterly has been so hyped.
Clear skies, no wind. perhaps looks as if some one has burst a bean bag in my garden.
Does anyone actually remember a proper easterly.
This was hyped as once in 100 yr event. Laughable.
I hope someone somewhere gets a snowdrift.

Bigger heavier showers now forming off the Norfolk coast and heading south westwards...fingers crossed. It's boom or bust tonight.
Possible streamer setting up?
Fingers crossed.

This was the post. Do you think it is the dewpoints?
The sunshine and blue sky between showers. The temperature here is 3c at the moment but we are at sea level.

Sunshine melting everything here . We had 4cm.

Lived near Nottingham until early 2013 so I was fairly lucky with some of the larger events like 2010! Being where I am along the coast now though I think I do benefit more from snow showers that catch me as they head into The Wash.. which explains 4 days of falling snow this year, hopefully by the end of the day i'll be able to tick off a day of lying snow too.
Me too.

You missed 1987 then - I've been waiting 30 years
Yes I have been waiting 30 Years too. Hoping for a good dumping. Sun is out now +2c.

Light dusting from last night. A few flurries passing over in Brancaster.

I do hope The villages in North/ North west Norfolk get hammered. I have been trying to convince my children of how the winters used to be. They are young men now. And have never experienced a real 70s 80s drifting snow event.
Going to be gutted if this gets downgraded. Although if these models come to fruition, I will be struggling to survive. Food and heating wise. Exciting and scary.

My visiting family want fish and chips at the beach on Saturday (recommendations for takeaways in North Norfolk, anyone??) before they depart from Heathrow Monday lunchtime. They're used to cold weather but driving in snow is nobody's idea of a good time - well, not mine! Snow later Monday please...

Cant help but feel deflated that this isnt December or january.
Sure, feel the same.
I have been hoping for a proper beast for 39 yrs.
I cannot see anything serious happening now.
Damn easterly will come and give us a bitter but bright spring. Hope it gives way for summer. Easterly summers are bad. Here anyway. straight of the sea.

Flood warnings for North Norfolk coast and Essex. Heads up. Just in case people are watching the snow and not tides. ATB Will.
