  1. It does look to me that next week might turn out to be a disappointing one for the majority of us. It may be cold but that's about all it will be.
  2. Another minuscule amount of snow for birmingham just enough to cover the pavement and road. Really has been poor for us brummies. The breakdown appears to be on the horizon I would prefer snow from the west than the east We need a new set up and a reload for a new cold spell.
  3. This cold spell has really been a big anti climax. Built up to be the worst of the winter, copious amounts of snow . Named by many the beast of the east. Well in birminggam it's been crap. The snow a week or so ago was far better lasted longer let the kids play in it, and wasn't ramped up half as much as this one.
  4. Looking outside the tiny amount of snow the weather gods of given us is now melting with temperature at minus one with no sun. All too much....
  5. This has hardly been the beast from the east anyway has it. More like the fairy from the east, for most regions. It's a shame we are not seeing an Atlantic breakdown with transient snow. Maybe we may get this in the end.
  6. I have to say I'm really underwhelmed by this whole spell so far. Yes it's bloody freezing but that's about all. Later in the week we will be hit by severe night frosts. As for snow not for us this time I'm afriad. Maybe some next week or an classic Atlantic push battle v cold air. Might be more fun.
  7. I think we are just a bit too far north in Shirley for the streamer
  8. Cant see much happening today in the wild west of Birmingham. A few grains landed overnight...
  9. http://Just been to fetch the paper its proper cold and windy outside only going to get colder.
  10. Doesn't it appear that the snow is appearing earlier than forecasted. South Yorkshire and Derbyshire already....
  11. Well we know this year the Birmingham snow shield has failed, as we have done well so far this winter.. So more is very welcome. My pet polar bear is really looking forward to playing in his usual snowy conditions. Long may it last.
  12. From Tuesday due to excess cold in the midlands all football matches will now become ice hockey matches and will take place on local ponds. Still the battle Atlantic v high next week who wins my money on stubborn high.
  13. Oh no. The dreaded yellow warning. Guaranteed the only flakes in birmingham will be the ones in my breakfast bowl.
  14. Better off without the warnings. Everytime they issue them we get nothing. When they dont we fill our boots.....
  15. Let's hope for the snow. I dont remember todays thick fog being forecast either. Just shows you what can happen. Its nowcast time.
  16. I agree we seem to be going from a fantastic cold spell with snow armageddon to a short lived bitterly cold spell. Even the met forecast had switched from yesterday. I'm sticking to lamp posting and the radar next week.
  17. I remember reading in the model thread how the Midlands and most of the country was going to be buried in snow up to a foot deep. Good job I didn't invest in thousands of snow shovels. We get the easterly bitter cold but not much snow.. However we have had our fair share of snow this winter in Birmingham.
  18. To be fair we havent done to badly so far from this winter have we. Just wish that front would realise it would get a far better welcome from us Midlands than the south easterners. Deep cold ice days hard frosts but limited snow I think for us Midlands during the spell. Saying that I'm hoping for more...
  19. I'm in Shirley Hall green border too . Full on snow I reckon soon.
  20. Mic of rain and snow in South Birmingham now.
  21. I mentioned an hour or so ago look to the east. The front is approaching from the north east. God bless it. May it dump some more of that lovely white stuff on us peasants in South brum. Fascinating watching the front it's movement and the radar.
  22. It won't fizzle out before it reaches Solihull it's snowing in hall green now
  23. Young kids by us are confused they have hardly ever seen more than 2cm of snow that hasn't melted before they got their wellies on.
