  1. Has anyone noticed a couple of showers developing in the Thames estuary? Maybe we will see a few surprises later if these expand.
  2. Interesting to see those near the Thames estuary with drizzle, yet move inland and we have snizzle. I'm guessing the North Sea is modifying the dew points in that area.
  3. Unbelievable how frequently the Met Office change their short term outlook. Just a couple of days ago they were going for a prolonged cold period (especially here in the south), now it's flipped to mild from next Tuesday and through the rest of February. If we're not going to get any meaningful Winter weather, bring on some Spring warmth!
  4. So, this is showing pressure higher to our north west on Sunday, whereas the models are showing it much further to the east - or am I misunderstanding it?
  5. I wonder if there will be a big shift in the Met Office outlook today? If they stick to their guns, maybe the models are being over progressive with the shift from cold easterlies to mild southerlies!
  6. I was so optimistic about the upcoming cold spell, but it does look to be a very much watered down version now! Such a shame as this was our best shot at some decent cold and snow :-(
  7. The models are rolling out now and I predict an upgrade. The Met Office see what we don't and they seem confident, so it'll be interesting to see how this evolves!
  8. Time will tell, but I agree, I'm sure we will see some snow soon!
  9. Is it just me, or does anyone else think something special is brewing? After reading some of the more experienced member posts, and now the massively upgraded Met Office outlook, I think we could be on the cusp of something we've been starved of for many years. I'm pretty sure the models will upgrade for coldies very soon!
  10. You know Farnborough will soon be the coldest. Seems to be the UK Siberia at night haha
  11. So, Southend is the coldest place is the UK right now. That's really quite something!
  12. Southend down to -5 already! Seems to be some continental influence in the east of our region. Farnborough is down to -4 (no surprise there), but temperatures have stabailsed here at -1
  13. What is it reading now? It's about -1 now, but I guess Farnborough is lower. Seems to be the cold spot
  14. What is it reading now? It's about -1 now, but I guess Farnborough is lower. Seems to be the cold spot
  15. Max here was 4.5, up from yesterday. Down to -1 now, well that's the nearest station. It's quite rural here and always colder. I work in Bracknell and when I drive home, it's always 1.5 degrees colder at home.
  16. Only down to -0.5 here. I've not checked, but I guess Farnborough will be much lower, even though just 10 miles down the road. What are your bets on the lowest temperature tonight and where? Will fog inhibit it? I still think Farnborough or Benson will be the cold spots, but will we see a -10??
  17. There must be a cold pool to the east of our region. Here in east Berkshire temperatures appear to be falling slower than in Kent.
  18. Thanks, Nick. I guess it's a matter of wait and see then. The positive being, any reduction in zonal winds will keep the Atlantic at bay.
  19. I'm no expert at all, but with a potential SSW, and subsequent reduction in zonal winds, do you think the models will adjust accordingly? Maybe we'll see a reversal in early Feb and more promising charts as we move forward? I guess if or when it happens, changes in the model output will be seen. I guess we're in a holding pattern.
  20. There must be a cold pool to the east of our region. Here in east Berkshire temperatures appear to be falling slower than in Kent.
  21. I thought as much. I guess temperatures can be lower with freezing fog as the droplets are super cooled
  22. Dropping fast here too under clear skies. Quick question though. Will the formation of fog inhibit temperature drop?
