  1. Snow has stopped...didn't manage to accumulate! Now very light rain after a shower of ice pellets! The radar shows more snow heading my way but I won't hold my breath!
  2. The rooftops are losing their shine...could the snow actually be sticking??? Much heavier, bigger flakes...
  3. Much heavier but small flakes. Attempting to accumulate on cars etc.
  4. Ho hum...a little bit of snow but the ground is wet...too wet for anything to stick. It keeps fading away, then coming back. It's not fair!! On Tuesday night we had 2 heavy showers of soft hail and they covered everything, causing chaos on the roads!! I would love to see soft, fluffy flakes, the size of saucers from a doll's tea set! Oh well, there's always February! And it would be lovely to see snow in February as my cousin is visiting from Australia! I'd love to take him sledging!
  5. A couple of showers of soft hail so far today, but a current shower looks like it is beginning to turn to snow...
  6. Well, I've been lurking these boards for the past few weeks...getting all excited at potentially a big snow event. Needless to say I'm disappointed...however, that's weather for you I suppose! I really enjoy what I consider to be "exciting" weather - heavy snow, strong wind, thunderstorms, ridiculously long, hot, dry spells. To me, they are something to reminisce over and talk about. Like being sent home from school early in heavy snow (early 80s) and walking home through knee-deep snow. I remember the long, hot summer of 1995. Wall to wall sunshine and high temperatures from May until the end of August, the weather breaking just a few days before my waters did! Sometimes the build up to weather events is almost as exciting as the event itself! However, today, I feel like it's the afternoon of Christmas day. The big build up has gone...the presents have been unwrapped...and there was nothing in them!! Oh well, here's hoping for a record breaking summer! Thanks for the entertainment everyone. The banter is worth checking in for, if not the forecasts/guesses/predictions! I will be back!
  7. Been lurking these boards for ages!! In East Lancs and very surprised to see snowfall which has covered the roads and pavements! Was only really expecting cold rain!
