  1. might explain why real time lightning maps looks a bit quiet
  2. Can hear thunder but it sounds very high up despite it being over on top of us
  3. glad I charged my batteries earlier, storms timed it perfectly for me coming up in the area for holiday
  4. Shame its not night as I bet here we'd be able to see a fair few flashes from the direction its coming in
  5. Looking South towards the storm heading to Pickering. Looking promising
  6. That could be possible, plus when it starts too cool down that should trigger more widespread storms, lightning wise it looks quiet on radar atm but plenty of heavy showers about
  7. Was expecting to see more lightning to be picked up on Real Time Lightning maps at the moment unless a lot of it is elevated
  8. I remember a few years ago something similar happened when there was so much cape but not enough moisture but it all kicked off out at sea near Norwich way
  9. Odds on these storms kicking off mostly in the North Sea
  10. I assume the storms will be like a squall line set up and move by quite fast
  11. Gone very hot in Pickering now, feels as if someones blowing a warm hair dryer in your face
  12. Looks very promising for North Yorkshire tomorrow, looks like I may have timed going on holiday well if it all kicks off
  13. Currently in North Yorkshire, Pickering so hoping for a good chance with storms, looking like a hot day with clear spells to start with which should help
  14. can't see anything happening here today, but seems where storms are occuring some of them tend to be quite impressive looking on the radar, like the one near Leicester atm wonder if there will be any more chances when cooling happens, warning still on till 8pm
  15. That cell has exploded now since I posted my comment, 50 strikes a minute within the past 5 minutes, crazy stuff, outside the warning area as well I believe
  16. kicking off in Norfolk Hopefully the cells near Sheffield kick off like the Norwich ones as they continue East
  17. we usually get a bit unlucky with storms heading a few miles from us, the cell has weakened a lot over the past 30 mins now as well
  18. I reckon this mornings rain reduced the main risk for today, just been cloudy all day here
  19. seems lightning activity has stopped in that lincolnshire cell now
  20. Few miles West please Guess will have to wait for the next storm day
