Out of interest, is there a reliable source for data on thunderstorm frequency per UK town available? All I've witnessed is hearsay so far. I'd be happy with something that goes back as little as five years.
I'm sorry, I'm new to this game so I don't know what resources are available.
They are awfully shy aren't they? I've not even had an rsvp back for Manchester yet. Recently one cell had its back to me when I was in East strategically-planned mini-holiday Sussex as per fig 1:
Historically I found nearby stoke where I used to live, quite good for storms, particularly the early nineties. Of course I could be looking back through rose tinted spectacles. Manchester has sucked since 2011 when I moved, save September 13th 2016
Hey there. I have one of many questions:
Is there any visible difference between negative and positive CCs and ICs?
The reason I'm curious is because of the obvious distinction between positive 'super' bolts from the blue and negative CGs
Also, do elevated thunderstorms have any notable characteristics vs surface based?
I'm in east Sussex tomorrow daytime but heading back home to Manchester on Wednesday morning. We've not picked an area to stay in tomorrow night. Any suggestions for some belated birthday lightning opportunities?
Huh. After I'd already planned a trip to the south coast Monday into Tuesday for my birthday. A France export and a card would be nice to go along with it
Does anyone know where to get an image showing all the lightning strikes in the UK yesterday? I was working from 5-9 and wanna see how close it got to Manchester
