  1. Is it time for a new thread? Or is that just jinxing this afternoon's bust.. I mean event?
  2. Any live webcam recommendations for the hague, Netherlands? I seem to be struggling
  3. Well, the drizzle has gone and the sun is (kinda) shining. Presumably the trough has passed. At this point, are things looking confident in a few hours time for some action in the British isles?
  4. Day 1 Convective Outlook VALID 06:00 UTC Mon 02 Apr 2018 - 05:59 UTC Tue 03 Apr 2018 ISSUED 21:20 UTC Sun 01 Apr 2018 ISSUED BY: Dan On the forward side of the upper trough to the west of Ireland, strong warm advection will result in a frontal system pushing north across the British Isles, bringing rain and hill snow. Main interest will be in the post-frontal environment, as several shortwaves migrate northeastwards. The exact forecast evolution is not particularly clear-cut, with models handling the location of various features a little differently - in either case, instability is somewhat marginal until Tuesday morning when the main cold pool arrives, so despite the potential for some showers or showery bursts of rain, lightning will likely be quite sparse during this forecast period.
  5. Aren't we getting the beast from the east 3.0? I already have a good feeling about this summer
  6. Hopefully I'll get a treat on the way back from bath to Manchester.
  7. Catatumbo lake in Venezuela might be a good bet... in serious, I tried looking for a long range forecast for all europe after the original post but gave up knowing where to look. If it were summer my leanings would be towards italy personally but it's not the case. I believe though north italy has the most lightning overall in Europe
  8. You're welcome dangerous. It's on lightningmaps.org then click on archives to get historical strikes
  9. Given the potential of hail and other assorted cold precipitation, could we be in for a bit sporadic action today across the UK? It has seemed to be the pattern with this year's wintry weather
  10. Had plenty of hail and thunder from 8.45pm in north Manchester, M9 Pity I was working otherwise I would have tried to film it. About five strikes in total, one close isolated strike at about 9.10 in the M 8 area
  11. I know, I thought there was something wrong with the website. Plenty of sferics embedded in the last few days' rain
  12. It sounds like a very messy and squally day. Very british weather but I'll take a rumble of thunder
  13. It shows a desperate time of the year when convective chatter 7 hours away gets me excited... http://www.plymouthherald.co.uk/news/plymouth-news/lightning-storm-strong-winds-hit-813273.amp
  14. I hope funnel clouds fall under convective because this will provide respite from the tumbleweed for those that hadn't seen...
  15. I'm off to Barcelona on the 13th November. Hopefully I'll get lucky. If not, well it's Barcelona
  16. Just had what felt like a convective shower, about 30 minutes ago in ardwick. Its nice now
  17. Accuweather on my phone says t-storms here in manc. But it's a fine evening. If it comes it'd better wait until Paul Draper's gig finishes...
