  1. Looking interesting for Reigate at long last. Estofex even give the south a Level 1! I watched the Brighton Webcams and saw one solid strike out at sea. There seem to be cells going up just ahead of the main trough, too.
  2. Morning Another day, another Yellow Weather Warning. Sadly, I think the chances of electricals are low for my area. The GFS charts are limp at the best of times. We might get a bit of rain, which will subdue the tumbleweed blowing around the sandscape that was once our garden. Rain is good. If anything turns up, I'll let you know.
  3. Morning all! Very many thanks to you for your films and photos. It looks like it was a memorable day for many of you. Naturally I got nothing here in my own personal storm-avoidance zone. And I don't think I'm up for much luck today either. So, cheers for posting your stuff - I enjoyed looking through the posts!
  4. Who nicked my thunderstorms?!! Faded out, they did. What a cheek. I hope some of you are having better luck than me.
  5. Morning all. Things are looking up a bit for some action, but I don't think I can push Nick Finnis a few tenners to increase his storm risk from 20% here in the Reigate area. Hmm. Come on, Mr Finnis... The Met Office doesn't seem to know which week it is, so I'm going to count on you folks to watch what goes on. If anything happens here I'll keep you posted. Happy hunting!
  6. Having crawled out of hospital after a bout of pneumonia (storm watching going well this year, isn't it?) I'm frowning over our Met Office's rather bland yellow-egg-flambe plastered with hardly a care over the centre of the UK. Saturday GFS and Estofex seem happier with a western-oriented breakdown over north Wales and then into a wider area. I'm not going to hold my breath for tomorrow (probably best not to, after recent circumstances) so for those of you who see some action, enjoy!
  7. Thank you for the forecast, Mr. Finnis. I tell you what: if I slip you a few tenners, might you be able to persuade the 40% northern line of activity to move a few miles north so that I can guarantee some activity in Reigate? It would be much appreciated. Cheers!
  8. Estofex keeps the action in France. Still, that ought to be near enough for us to get a Yellow Weather Warning...
  9. Storm? Storm? I had a look but I think these will be Sussexy-Kent clippers. Shame. I'll keep my fingers crossed...
  10. Hot rain? That's a new one! Any good poached eggs from the pavement? It is very localised - and that fits the forecasts.
  11. I agree with you. The Met Office have issued so many Yellow Weather warnings over the last few years I just zone out now when I see them. Even my jokes about Severe Drizzle have faded with time. I find Estofex so much more reliable. I wish someone at the Met Office would take a long hard look about the way they deal with the insurance industry, and the effects MO behaviour in that respect has on professional forecasting. Right now it appears to be an insurance-led mess. Anyhow, back to watching the radar for more light rain.
  12. Yep. Only a load of showers, and no wind to speak of. I don't know if anyone else had anything interesting, but not even the showers were that noteable. We could do with some nice warm sunny days! (Followed by an energetic Spanish plume...)
  13. Plenty of showers to come, but I'm not holding up much chance of anything unusual here (Reigate - I'm back). If anything turns up, I'll post!
  14. I'm at Framwellgate Moor. Constant thunder to the west of here. This is the cell that caused a brown out for me. Some big lumps of cloud about!
  15. Yes, but only one rumble of thunder and a big downpour. As per comment just above. Pretty much right over this house. Nothing unusual noticed other than its very rapid development. It may do more as it continues NE.
  16. These storms are whipping up in no time at all. In 50 minutes the cell passing over our house went from an idea to an absolute downpour!
  17. For the moment! Nice to have a bit of sun this morning.
  18. Humid and ready for action here. Shot to the south-west of the house.
  19. Well, I am still here up by Durham City! I'm hoping for something tomorrow! Glancing through the Cape and LI charts I get fed up when I see France turn bright red with enough LI and Cape to look like someone's sucking the air out of the area. Rarely get that in the UK! Good hunting tomorrow.
  20. I am keen to report from Durham that....nothing happened. I experienced a bust so bad, even the better bits of the bust were busted. Oh well. It's raining now. StormLoser's 'local high pressure' strikes again.
  21. I've checked outside reading and it is 25.5 in the shade. I guess I've been softened up by recent warm weather! Well, thanks for the good news. I've been Kent Clipped so many times while in the south, I can't help feel pre-disappointment!
