  1. Is it possible the sting jet could move further south again, atm seems like Essex area would miss it to the south
  2. Met needs to issue red warnings now for southern, eastern and southeast England. Atleast so when people wake up they can asses the situation better. I fear with hinesight they might regret the decision not to.
  3. That would certainly warrant a red for South East and East Anglia
  4. When does the met office issue evening updates? When can we expect a change to warnings?
  5. The BBC is now showing me 7 hours of winds gusting over 70mph approaching 80mph at times. Many trees won't be able to stand this
  6. It's literally one model run, I could say the same about it being an upgrade by looking at other models for my area
  7. Just because your location has been downgraded by a few mph doesn't mean it's a downgraded for the rest of the country. If anything overall there's been an upgrade for the most populated areas like London and the southeast
  8. Wait for the warnings that will update this morning BBC just mentioned they will be updated this morning. In addition someone above said we are comparing it to 1987? No one has said that
  9. I think a possible red warning could be issued for parts of home counties and East Anglia later today
  10. How reliable is the arome model when compared to others, coming from someone who lives under that?
  11. Thing that worries me most is that I'm expecting 4 hours of winds over 70mph approaching 80mph. The st Jude storm only lasted about 30mins
  12. I remember for the st Jude day storm we had higher forecasted wind speeds. Whether Friday beats St Jude for the south east I'm skeptical
  13. Just some advice on how to interpret the warning system, it's not based on windspeed thresholds but more location and season. For example the mumbles area might stay in the amber yet London and the southeast might go red instead. Why you ask because the storm will have a higher impact in London than in Wales even though the windspeed is slightly less
  14. Brightening up in Maldon, could be ground zero for the worst today haven't had a thunderstorm in a while
  15. Is this area of thundery rain expected to intensify, I reckon the main event will be later in the night as it normally is
  16. Anyone know if Danbury got a top up of snow last night? Prime sledging place
