  1. My guess is the wind direction has different effects on perceived wind speed, seems stronger to me aswell but I know it's not.
  2. Still have now power here been a day already it's a joke, the winds weren't even that bad.
  3. Out of interest does this squall have the worst winds you have seen all day?
  4. The models did indicate that the squall would strengthen as it heads toward the south east, hopefully we see that.
  5. Winds are increasing here again powerful blasts
  6. I know I could be wrong but the winds dont seem to be increasing if not moderating to me, I guess we will find out .
  7. Looks like we can put the ecm model in the bad books by overdoing the wind speeds, the peak of today's winds were in the morning which is odd considering the forecast was for them to increase throughout the day.
  8. I have that lot up north will be arriving in the evening, I reckon the winds might have peaked in my location however this might just be a lull before later.
  9. Squall was nothing special the wind isn't increasing much, might be slowing even, was told the main event is late afternoon but starting to doubt it.
  10. Nothing really impressive with that squall some sheets of rain the wind didnt increase much.
  11. Yeah nothing too out of the ordinary yet, guessing that will change however.
  12. Winds not as powerful now a slight lull filling in it seems, nothing too different from a usual bad winter storm yet.
  13. Yeah checked areas around Southampton and all maxing at around 70mph, strange.
  14. The bbc suggesting hours of 80mph winds for Southampton, is this an error or they know something we dont
  15. I doubt the east coast and far south east coastal areas will be badly flooded as the offshore wind will create a negative surge affect.
  16. I remember the st jude day storm only had peak winds lasting about half an hour and that caused extensive damage across the south, that was the last amber warning for our region although with winds forecast were slightly higher
  17. Not sure why east anglia hasn't been upgraded yet, looks like 70mph gust across the region.
  18. Have had little to no rain today, seems like the luck is going to run out.
  19. Looks like the rain missed most of the south east, was that meant to be the main event?
  20. The main focus was never really a storm threat but for heavy rain with the odd rumble, far from a bust.
  21. Just had very intense winds in that squall that came past, a warning ton anyone else in the path.
  22. Was expecting more wind today, forecast was for gust exceeding 40mph but I guess that's later.
