    The mean wind speed on met office doesn't get NI above 29mph, this was issued at 7pm.....anyone else find that unusually low, could be why the haven't issued red warnings.

    As some of you will know there is potential for another wind event next weekend, currently forecast through the channel. How much warning, coverage will this receive from met and msm? More than Ophelia you can guarantee that due to a risk to the south east. Directly on Ophelia and the BBC maps above I think those gust forecasts are conservative, we'll see 90-100 mph widespread through those areas.

    It will because some people will take risks. Stay in doors is best option to limit risk but people are people and will go out unnecessarily.

    Another 50 mile shift east and that starts to bring most of uk and ireland into 70mph gust range as opposed to ireland/ni and western uk.

    It has moved east no doubt about it and will continue to do so just watch.

    The eye is still there on sat24 radar updated only 15 mins ago.

    Russia is going to be turning progressively white over next 7-10 days on these maps.
