  1. Having been the wrong side of marginal for all the snow events through the winter. Including yesterday when the cars barely had a few soggy flakes melting quickly and the ground was wet Gravesend is now having its coldest night of the winter and there's no precip to be seen tonight ? just typical. Oh well atleast I saw some snow in Meopham and at work in Borough Green
  2. I take note of the BCC they were the only weather model saying we'd have a seasonal winter this year if I remember rightly trumping the cfs etc
  3. I hope you're right for us ESE of london but I asked Liam Dutton on Twitter and he thinks it's favouring Lincolnshire and east Anglia more than the SE. Although we still have light snow symbols currently for here in Gravesend. But I won't get my hopes up after this mornings fail
  4. Just a question regarding this model& solar cycle- Does the solar cycle also have an effect on the strength of sun? as were heading for solar minimum would it be lower in the next year or 2 or has that nothing to do with this model?
  5. I do think though we would already have had our snow cover possibly if those marginal events that came in the day particularly 10th December one had happened in the early hours rather than at lunch time when south of our region had sleet and rain
  6. Still a bit of blue there for us snow starved kentish&east Sussex folks??
  7. The only big snow events in the SE in the last few years 2010 2009 etc have all come from the East/ENE
  8. Is that the same player that earns £500000 a week and got a good kicking at Wembley tonight ? you should def stick to model forecasting rather than the footy pal. Good old Spurs️️
  9. Don't forget more than half the population of England would be affected with London and surrounding counties in the firing line for potential streamers. It's high time the South and East got their chance of some of the white stuff. share it out?
  10. I'm half Mauritian myself and am going back to visit family there for Easter. I hope the cyclones not too bad for your mother in law and my family there too! They do very occasionally get some big cyclones there but have not had any damaging ones for years. My dad actually lost his house to a cyclone in the 60s! I had a feeling they may have been due a bigun after the strong Atlantic hurricane season. I just hope there's none when I'm there! As they can have them right up to the first half of May. I don't know if you'e aware but there is a good site the Mauritius Meteorological service it has cyclone bulletins and the cyclone tracker etc worth a look! I wonder how the cyclone activity affects our weather in this part of the world?
  11. I'm more of lurker than a poster on here but having been on here for years one thing I've always noticed is everytime we all get excited at a potential cold spell modelled by the ECM and the GFS doesn't agree we nearly always end up with a blend of the model outputs occurring. I never bought into thie idea of a snowy Easterly of course it may still happen at some point but for me we need cross model agreement between all models
  12. Lovely looking first Easterly/ Thames streamer type set up this winter bringing us snow showers modelled by latest GFS let's hope it's not gone by the morning, and that the models build on it tomorrow
  13. Yes the snowline def seems higher in NW Kent this time. On my way to work from Gravesend to Borough Green- Meopham was snow free this time only right at the top of Wrotham Hill was there any slight accumulations
  14. I think our region must be the slush capital of the world. It would be interesting to see where in the world averages the most yearly non settling snowfalls!
  15. Oh what' this we have 3 sleety flakes blowing in the wind. Need a good a easterly for this location fed up of this westerly&norherly rubbish
  16. It's either not reached here yet or the Thames is doing it's best to stop any form of precipitation here in lowland Gravesend. Not a flake or a rain drop either. Strange when places north and south of here are reporting snow
  17. What do you reckon for NW Kent area this time?last time we just missed out had 2 hours of slush before it turned to rain then attempted to.snow again but was already wet ground. In some ways I'm wishing it wouldn't occur Wednesday as I'm back to work and a delivery driver and have to go to slough in the afternoon( more in the risk area I would assume)
