  1. I'm not no, 41m asl, I have a vantage vue 2m over grass, 70ft from my house and at least 120ft from any roads, I've often been suspicious of my low readings, I had one of -4.9c (well actually sustained low temps) on the 20th of November last year with that cold snap, but other stations reported similar low figures, under -4c. I currently have another 2 stations near me reporting minus figures http://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=IUNITEDK95 A year ago I also checked my low readings with another 2 digital stations, they were all within .1c of each other Very odd! edit: temps have been up and down tonight, hit -1.1c earlier, but it's less manic now, maybe there's somewhere nearby drying their hair in the garden
  2. -0.6c here -1.5c dew, and the ppn keeps growing ever further east, bringing me now into the main band hopefully!
  3. Hoping for a dusting later, but 'expecting' to see something fall from the sky hopefully, will probably be up till the early hours keeping an eye on things! -0.6c DP -1.3c
  4. -0.4c here now, temp has dropped a lot, models are looking good for a dusting, not sure what to think about the radar though!
  5. 4.1c here, if any ppn arrives, it'll be after nightfall so hopefully fall as snow. Apparently expecting a sharp temp drop tonight, afraid I think I'm too far east!
  6. Not quite sure if the feature is a hurricane quite yet, something I heard from other threads and sources, I've heard it has hurricane speed sustained winds, but not sure of the classification of the storm! I know it was ex-tropical or non tropical, it's still a very interesting feature to establish and direct close to our shores at a critical time for snow lovers! EDIT: Whatever it was (could someone clarify? I'd like to learn a little on this subject) Alex is now a hurricane. http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/gtwo.php?basin=atlc&fdays=2
  7. Me being on the coast, and the SE shows why my averages are a little higher!
  8. Nothing is certain yet from the way the models are handling things, but it does look promising for Monday! We still don't have a proper grip (or the models don't) on ex tropical storm (now a hurricane?) Alex. This could disrupt things?
  9. 3.1c here now, still very crisp outside with a frost still in the shade, not expecting anything higher than 4c or so today, so for this area it'd be the coldest day so far of the year, GFS shows a max of 3.8 - 4.3c, going on my 0.7c minima this morning, If today were to reach 4.1c we'd have a daily mean of 2.4, beating yesterdays 2.9c and 1st Jan's 3.9c, showing it has got a lot colder! Lovely clear sky, can't see the maxima getting too great today!
  10. Not looked outside here yet but it's currently 1.2c Overnight minimum of 0.7c just before 5am, DP plummeted last night down below -3c
  11. That's going to be hellish then! Off to college in Grays today near the thames and it's always blowing a gale. Looking at wind chill it's going to feel -5c later this evening on the walk home
  12. Netweather's Free V6 radar is pretty good http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=radar;sess=
  13. Not feeling bitter, but certainly colder out there today in that wind!
  14. Do you have a link to that? I'll PM Pitt to see whether he asked or not
  15. Thanks again, I will edit my figures in excel from the Cumulus records! 6.7c here to the 7th for Benfleet, am I alright in posting my figures here along side the CET and The PIT? or do I need to ask someone for approval ?
  16. Another quick question from me! How is the daily CET calculated by hadley, Min+Max/2 or an average of all samples taken that day? I have 2 different average's from each, and not sure which one I should be using, 1 minute Samples give me 6.9c to the 7th, Min+Max/2 give me 6.7c Thanks
  17. Is their last update from the 2nd? I wonder what's wrong, they're usually on the ball?
