  1. Hi guys, sorry to butt in :D

Just started calculating averages for my area, but not sure if I'm doing it right. Here is what I've got so far:

    average.png

I got these figures by taking the average daily temperatures from Cumulus (1 minute sample averages) and adding them up each day to get a 'running average'

I want to include the running average so I can see the trend throughout the month

    So 1st: 5.2 + 2nd: 9.4 / 2 = 7.3 running average, I think I'm good so far here?

I'm stuck on how to get the next average, do I do the same

    1st: 5.2 + 2nd: 9.4 + 3rd: 7.4 / 3 = 7.3 running average

    or is it

    latest running average (7.3) + latest daily average (7.4) / 2 = 7.3?

Just wondering whether I'm doing this right or not, thanks :)

Not sure if I should've put this in it's own thread.. I've copied the post so it can be deleted and put into a thread if need be!

  2. Mapantz that is awesome, I had a dabble with php a few weeks ago on my site but gave up after banging my head against a brick wall, barely even got the standard template working :D

Just to let you know it is very slow to load here for some reason, takes a good 10 seconds, not on a great connection but it is about 13Mb, will try again with some other browsers, who's the guy behind it and how much does he charge? :snowman-emoji:

Yep (as noted above), could be a vicious storm at some point in the next ten days. Out to 240 you know something is brewing but you don't know the where and when. 00Z GFS showing this nasty feature:

Signs of some height rises in Greeny / Mid-Atlantic are few and far between but would be a welcome contrast. Hope the signals out beyond day 10 can solidify and verify over the next week or so.

Edit: Indeed, the next shortwave rushing up the Jet at about 204 could be the "Daddy" for the next pattern change. I'm calling it the "where's your tool?" update.

Luckily the latest GFS run pushes that low further north and it's not quite as severe, looking at the previous run's wind gusts, that setup would've put 60mph+ gusts over central london for over 15 hours, and peaking the gusts at 85mph inland :bomb:

Daren't ask this in the MOD thread...focus seems entirely upon whether or not it will snow somewhere in the UK in the not too distant future.

What are the chances of Cornwall (or more specifically Nr. Penzance) seeing any dry weather in the first week of January? Is it likely to be a complete wash out?

Here is the GFS's current take on things from the 1st to the 7th. then loops :)

Don't worry, mine was **** too!

Hangover from hell Christmas morning, and extremely tired, even though I had 9 hours sleep! Before leaving to go to the families place I threw up outside, so then decided it's not worth the hassle and I will see the fam on Boxing day, spend Christmas alone, still too ill to cook any dinner, awake all Christmas night watching TV, boxing day still tired, still not feeling great, dad comes over, argument happens, then I can't be bothered to do anything!

On the plus side this is the first Christmas/Boxing day I've not had any alcohol in 8 years, oh and my sleeping pattern is not too bad today, I went to bed at 7pm last night, woke up at 2am, (after waking up literally 10 times!) made it to 8pm, still fine now, so hopefully will be good till tonight, have a decent 10 hour sleep tonight and carry on with a good pattern to new year!

    Happy chap aren't I!?

was 10C this morning at 5:45am when hubs went to get the rest of our Christmas food, been windy then it rained. A lot colder and it would been the white stuff, so as we didn't get any snow, treated Bubs to a 'snowman' picnic 'snowman cookies we baked this morning, snowman shaped crisps, snowman soup (hot choocy and snowman shaped marshmallows ) and her fave cheesy sandwiches, while watching the snowman on telly. :snowman-emoji::ball-santa-emoji:

Still got the wind so I couldn't do my fairy grotto surprise as it would of blown it  down so hopefully it won't cloud over to see santa past a bit later.

    merry Christmas to all:cold-emoji::santa-emoji::snowman-emoji::reindeer-emoji:

    Here you go :)
