    Does anyone remember the weather on the day of the Zeebrugger disaster ? Woke up to 6 inches of snow, by 1pm it had all but melted and the afternoon felt tropical.

    Just had a light snow shower.. blink and you missed it.. As Northwest snow said, lets hope February delivers. It can be the coldest month and the Jet does seem to slow down a touch. NW'ly winds are now becoming a major pain in the backside. If the winds come from the east the himalayas to our east block most Ppn. The only thing that works for our cursed region is a ScandI block with atlantic fronts trying to push in. Fingers crossed

    Joking aside, yes the region is cursed but I would love a scientific view of why our winters are going downhill. Yes back in the 70's and 80's we had events go pear shaped. For me the last 30 years have really seen the change for the worse.. 2010 was a one off event that won't be seen again for some time.

    Rain here but I'm not expecting anything else.

    Woke up to rain this morning. Drove to work through Bolton and a slushy covering. Got to Kearsley ( lowest ASL in the Bolton Borough ) and they had a full covering. You could not make it up.
