According to local personal weather stations I reached just shy of 38*C (37.8)
The official weather stations:
- Birmingham Airport topped out at 37*C
- Coleshill 39*C
Don't know what the previous Birmingham record was but I assume it has been beaten
M.O were a bit too eager for temps. There actual website forecasts were correct but this snap from today's forecast was a bit too high!

I would have preferred to experience a Cold Alert Level 4 but I suppose this will have to do!

I absolutely detest hot weather, I much prefer cold and snow

Few flakes falling, another day of falling snow in what has been a miserable winter (in terms of snow!)

I can understand why Emma, but why Arwen?

Sleet here, a shame this didn't arrive during the night, anyway, what ever happens it won't be enough to redeem this 'winter'.
I received the most snow this season, during November

A great tweet thread comparing against past storms, that I'm sure many will find interesting.
Based on the windspeed data for Brum (Coleshill) Eunice beats:
- Katie
- St Jude
- Valentine
This is of course not representative of everywhere in the country or Midlands. Doris, Ciara remain those which stand out to me in recent years.

A very disappointing event, I was hoping for 70mph+ gusts with the chance to experience a sting jet.
Still not as crushing as if it had been a snow event

Very noisy at Heathrow now, on Big Jet TV. Every plane coming in at the moment is on the go around!
Always great to watch, a BA Dreamliner made 3 attempts to land and now is diverting to Geneva, Switzerland - wouldn't want to be on that flight!

Alton Staffordshire - A calm quiet morning so far. Not windy and sunny. What a load of hype as per here.
Yeah, not really that stormy here to be honest at the moment

The GFS looks like quite a big downgrade to me, inland areas mostly in the 60s with only coastal areas reaching 80 mph...
I agree at least for those wanting to experience strong winds and a possible sting jet ARPEGE keeps the hope alive

GFS seems to have further downgraded the winds - quite a bit lower compared to what other models are showing

The St Austell area, that wind speed for gusts is 72mph? Can't really tell.
Yeah it’s with in the 72mph contour line
