  1. Haven't we seen this before, where all models show a cold spell incoming, drop the idea, then bring it back closer to the time?
  2. Freezing rain could be a real problem, very dangerous if it does happen. I'm surprised there hasn't been a warning for it
  3. The models are all over the place at the moment, which is usually a better sign for us than the usual +NAO winters with a euro high. Look at the NH view on the 12z compared to the 18, it's completely different in the latter stages which shows the volatility that's going on at the moment
  4. Couldn't agree more, my friend works at the hospital and said there has been numerous crashes and incidents due to the snow in the Harrogate area
  5. Just need that Russian high on the parallel run to disappear next
  6. Both GFS's are slowly heading towards scandi heights from what i'm seeing
  7. Won't happen, GFS blowing up that low pressure as it always likes to do
  8. Look at that cold pool heading straight for Northern Europe!
  9. Looks good with that cold pool building over Western Russia
  10. GFSP blowing that low up in a true GFS fashion, but I like what it's doing further east with the Russian high. It's brought it further north and cut off the warm flow from the south, allowing the cold air to flow around the south of it and towards Europe
  11. If you've spent enough time on here, you'd know not to pay attention to weather apps
  12. what heights? two low pressures are heading right towards Iberia
  13. January hasn't even happened yet! We're getting some of the best winter charts for years coming out. yet people are still acting all doom and gloom
  14. Look at that piece of PV sliding down the east coast of greenland, heading towards the trough of low pressure over the UK...
  15. A large high pressure with light winds circling from the north west, it would be cold under that so I doubt it
  16. High pressure over eastern Canada looks a lot better on this run
  17. The only bad place this run is for is the western coast of the USA, barely any rain at all forecasted for the next two weeks if it comes off. At least for us it's showing high pressure in place and low heights down across Iberia and Europe. The building blocks there for something spectacular to happen. Patience is a virtue
